So the rubber sanding pad they give you is just a metal nut cased in a rubber housing and my grinder burned through it almost immediately (I sanded for about 10 minutes before it let go). I ordered an aluminum one to replace with that should hold up.The sanding pads seem to work great, I am refinishing slate slabs for a kitchen table and a coffee table. the 10 minutes I got out of it seemed decent but I only got to use the lowest grit pad.Speaking of pads, they don't stick to the provided sanding pad all that great, I quickly noticed (after getting pegged with flying diamond discs a couple times) that I need to keep considerable down-force on the tool as it rotates, this down-force needed to keep the pad on is why the rubbed sleeve got burned through.So, 3 stars because the pads are pretty decent as far as actual sanding goes but this product gets a 1 for durability.

These pads are not meant for dry polishing even though the description says they are. They are cheap knock offs of dry pads and are meant for wet polishing at high speeds, which the rubber pad would not be able to handle for long periods of time. I have polished over 5000 Linear feet of stone tile in my life and these are not for dry settings! Couldn't return the product as it took 2 weeks to get the product and then I couldn't use it for another 2 due to projects shut down. Luckily the price is right for wet polishing, which I typically don't do anymore, but at least I now have a back-up set/paper weight!

The product worked great. As we only needed to polish the edge of a smaller piece of granite we can't speak to longevity. Perhaps on another project we will have an opportunity to use it more.

I used them on a VCT floor that was installed by an idiot. They polished very nicely when used with water.
