It's perfect for the winter dealing with dry and chapped knuckles

This is a great product, with only a few select ingredients, a lovely texture, and a wonderfully handy container that makes application a breeze... as long as you're not trying to apply the balm in the nooks and crannies between your fingers!One of the main reasons I purchased this balm was because of the ingredients list. I've been very selective about the products I've been buying - especially the ones for skin. Too many of them have weird alcohols, preservatives, or oil industry by-products (ie. petroleum or petrolatum). This was an attractive alternative, with only four ingredients, all four of which I trust: shea butter, organic virgin coconut oil, beeswax, and Vitamin E oil. It sounds like something I'd be willing to make in my own kitchen!Upon receiving the balm, the foremost point of my concern was the texture. Too many times, I've used "natural" lotions or balms that end up being too waxy (due to too much beeswax) or too sticky (too much oil or butter). This balm is a very pleasant in-between: solid enough to be used properly, but not too solid to be applied easily. I also really liked the container - the extra-large chapstick-style dispenser is a great way to use this on the go. With small children around, it's nice to be able to apply with one hand instead of setting the entire container down somewhere (that the kids can reach) in order to use. It's a great size to stick in a bag or picnic sack and cart around.There is a melting warning on this stick, that warns against getting this balm in 89*+ temperatures, however in Texas (where it's been 97* for the last week) I've been able to leave this in my car (!) with no apparent consequence.The only downside of this balm that I've been able to find so far? If you are trying to apply the balm directly to the spaces between your fingers' base, it can be tricky to navigate the large-ish stick in such a small area. However I found some good success with applying the balm on the larger parts of my hands and then using my other hand afterward to smear the balm to the nooks and crannies of my hand where it was otherwise difficult for the balm to reach on its own. Hardly a mark against the balm, though... its quality is not at all compromised by the shape of the dispenser!All in all, it's a great lotion. I have been enjoying its use during the hot summer months, when normally my hands would get chapped from all the handwashing I do after changing dirty diapers and handwashing all our dishes. I'm going to start off with the fact that I'm a postal worker that works close to the beach and something like this is awesome to have. Working for the post office you tend to get a lot of paper cuts, dry and chapped hands from the heat and nothing to really repair it from. Enters in Boater's Balm, this product is perfect for me since after washing my hands they tend to dry out which leads to me getting paper cuts. I'm in a mail truck all day so I don't have time to stop and apply lotion every single time I feel like my hands are about to dry out. They keep my hands soft throughout the day even when I go on lunch break and wash my hands(i wash my hands twice). I do recommend keeping it somewhere cool and dark. It has the same consistence as lip balm meaning it will break down quickly if you don't keep it close to room temperature or lower.
