Awesome quality as expected from Wenger
This a great Every Day Carry (EDC) knife/ multi-tool. I have a Victornox equivalent of this knife. But the S52 features a locking blade which is a major plus for me. Also I am more accustomed to the can opener of the Wenger knives. Ideally I would love to carry a leatherman with me at all times, but they do tend to take up too much pocket space. On a side note, I have noticed that I get less of the "Sharp-edge danger" look from people ( mostly strangers), who might see me using this knife. I mean, I'm sure you have gotten a stare like that too, if you carry and used a knife regularly. You might be minding your business and say tying down a Christmas tree or whatever to the roof of your car with twine. Then you pull out a blade to cut the extra cord and now you have someone in the next row of cars giving you a glaring stare. Luckily I have noticed that this knife does not tend to attracted that type of a stare. While it still offers a solid lock-up and sports a great edge. This might be in part due to the fact that a lot of people are familiar with the iconic "Swiss Army Knife" red scales.I have done a more in-dept review and comparison of this knife on YouTube. If you are interested you may find it there.

Probably too big for pocket carry -- it's a mini-toolkit, but darn good!
This is probably too large and heavy to carry every day in a pants pocket, but may work well in a coat pocket or belt sheath. It's a lot of knife.I haven't used it very much yet, but it is, like my other Wenger knife, well-made: all of the tools snap open and closed with smoothness and authority, the blade is sharp, the scissors cut well, the saw is wicked sharp, etc. The best feature, and the reason I chose this over a comparable Victorinox, is that this has a locking blade -- not essential, but I like it for a small added margin of safety. The only drawback I can find is that the pliers are a bit flimsy and probably only of use for very small tasks - but that is what I expected in a Swiss Army Knife pliers, so I won't reduce the score for that. Additionally, it's a tiny bit tricky to extract the scissors because the blade lock button is in the way - but once you get the hang of it, it's not a big issue -- will just take an extra half-second. These are all things that I expected in such a well-equipped SAK.One of these is no substitute for a toolkit, but is rather intended for small everyday tasks that won't send you scurrying off to the basement. For that purpose, this is a great knife. For an EDC, look to something smaller such as the Wenger Evo S10, which is half the size and has most of the important tools.I'm not sure why many people prefer Victorinox for SAKs. I have some of each brand, and the Wengers are every bit as good - and if you want a locking blade in a smaller knife like this, Wenger is the only option!Edit: I am knocking one star off the review because, after using the knife for a few weeks, it seems to me that Wenger could have placed the scissors further from the blade lock button -- could have moved it over a layer or two -- and hence made it easier to access the scissor. But that is really the only design flaw that I have found with this knife.

Very nice!
This particular model has everything on it that is of use for a bug out bag. Add a multitool and a Shard and should have most situations covered. The pliers are nimble enough to use as tweezers with some extra grip. Little on the bulky side for pocket carry but in a nice sling bag like a Maxpedition makes a welcome addition.

swiss knife
This is the third one of this type i've had. l like the scissors and the pliers but was disappointed that this model does not have a phillips blade but has a cork screw instead. some other models by wenger have a very good phillips on the back side.

What a GREAT Swiss Army Knife, and the WARRANTY ROCK 's!!!
Believe it or not, 21 yrs ago I received a WENGER Swiss Army Knife from my father when I had to go to the army in Belgium as a soldier. I can tell you; as an 18yr old kid I felt like Rambo, unstoppable with my Swiss Army Knife, that was THE way to go back then :-).Now, 21 yrs later, I still had that knife (in use) and put it on my packing list to "move" to the USA with my wife and 3 kids. Couple things that you don 't forget when moving out of your home country is your "gear". Specially when moving to the other side of the world, and so was that old beat up swiss army knife packed up in a cardboard box somewhere with my other stuff...My idea was to give that old pocket knife to my 8yr old son a couple weeks ago in Nevada once we moved in, actually as his true first pocket knife, how cool is that. I told him the story about the army, that "grandpa" gave that to me, that he could not lose it and on and on, you know how that goes, lol!Until I found out that the locking blade was not working as it should did years ago, the lock was 'nt working no more and he could hurt himself with it... Same with those red plastic pieces (outside covers) that where a little busted, lost the toothpick etc etc. Overall the knife had it ' s best time over the years. Hey, but still useful and still ok for us! But for kids, as a first pocket knife experience? NO! You can 't just be sure enough. So I called Wenger in NY and asked them if we could fix it somehow. I told hem the story that I was willing to pass it to my son... They told me to first send it in for a general review and possible repair.. So I thought ok, pack it up, printed that document on they' r website and I did send it back to them...! Expecting to wait forever etc.And today, after +/- 10 days, in the mailbox, a box, a nice "thank you-letter" and a BRAND NEW "Wenger Evolution S52" pocket knife. I 'm telling you, our 8yr old son had a blast when he opened that package, soooo happy with it! It made his day!And what about me? I 'm still wondering that we had a brand new replacement instead of that darn old, busted up pocket knife that I used for all those yrs.Hey and to be honest, I USED it a LOT and it did really great over the years!Hopefully this will tell you how great these knifes are in the first place and second of all the Wenger warranty is amazing! Don 't misunderstand me, I 'm also a true BIG fan about Leatherman products, I got a couple of those tools and knives in my collection and everybody knows that they 'r warranty is rock solid, but Wenger? Same great service guys, I suggest to buy this knife based on my review and believe me, I got nothing to do with the Wenger company, we 'r just a very happy family with they 'r amazing warranty service (just imagine it after all those years!!!!). And the 8yr old can go Geocaching with us and with his own brand new pocket knife right now.Repeating history actually... Overall, I looked at this S52 knife today and I have to tell you that it 's of great quality, very sturdy, everything works perfect, scissors, saw, knife, screwdrivers, toothpick, name it! It feels rock solid, and it looks like it can easy outlive that previous old knife. It looks like this 2013 model is even a better build quality than the previous one. So Wenger proves that they probably listen to they 'r customers and constantly review previous products and make them even better and better over the years. So that 's cool I guess. The design and shape of the red handles is also a lot better than the previous model that we shipped back! Overall? GREAT knife and a great warranty! Hopefully the 8yr old will not lose it :-)If you want to spend the money for it, buy it! By the way, it 's a great price on Amazon, at Wenger 's official website it 's like 80 bucks!
