Simon & Schuster Mega Crossword Puzzle Book #21

Crossword puzzles are proven to improve brain function, memory, and knowledge. It's like a Jeopardy round on paper with subjects like: geography, literature, history, science, sports, movies, tv, food, politics, pop culture, etc. There's also the satisfaction of finishing one (answers are in the back just in case!) Each book has 300 puzzles, keeping you busy every day for nearly a year. I've ordered 22 of them over the years. True story.

Great puzzles range from medium to quite difficult which I prefer. Type is big enough for my old eyes. The best feature is the pages are perforated and tear out easily so you don't have to hold the whole, heavy book. Highly recommended.

Print is large enough, complexity level is a challenge, and perforations allow for removal and completion without toting the book around.

I think this is my third book purchase of this puzzle series. I like the easy-to-read print size, the simple definitions, and my favorite part is the perforations on each page. It is enjoyable for me to tear out several puzzles individually and place them on a clipboard. This allows me to relax in a recliner with a pillow on my lap and the clipboard puzzles on top. I don't have to hold an entire book open while working the puzzles...a "game-changer" for me. My only complaint is that some of the puzzles in these books are so easy that they can be filled in too quickly with little or no challenge. I like the slightly larger puzzles further along in the book that allow me to skip boxes on the first reading and fill them in later as I gradually realize the words required. Each edition contains about 300 puzzles. One of these books will give me many hours of enjoyment for about a year.

I have worked my way through over a dozen of these compilations. I do them before bedtime, on planes to foreign lands, visiting relatives and have a clipboard of puzzles with me most of the time. 300 to a book is a great deal and large enough to see easily! I dread running to the end of the series and have to find another source. Pages easily tear loose as you advance through the book.

We buy these every time there is a new series. The spiral feature makes these so practical. Generally, these are a medium difficulty, but, it seems as you get toward the back they get much harder to solve.

Love the crosswords, fun to do and just hard enough. 300 crosswords is great for the price!

This is the second one I bought. The puzzles aren't gimme's, but they're reasonably challenging (for me anyway). I'm looking for diversion not headaches.

A great crossword book.

Easy to read, and challenging, but not crazy

Level of difficulty varies but never too easy or too hard. Print is large and sharp and the pages tear out easily.
