Q: I am looking for something to trim hair around my maltese eyes. Would this trimmer be good for that

In my opinion, not at all. These scissors are big and heavy and the blades do not glide, in fact they kind of stick, not to mention making a significantly audible slicing sound, which, if your Maltese is calm around scissors won't be an issue, but with my traumatized kitty, definitely is. In addition, I found the combs to be a cheap plastic that does not run through the hair smoothly. I guess there are enough people who do like this product, I'm just not one of them. It's probably fine for big, generalized work, but I would not recommend it for delicate, minute work. Just my personal opinion. The company sent me their little trimmer scissors for free, when they found out I was not satisfied. Those are pretty useless too. I think you're better off buying a nice little pair of baby scissors, with rounded tips. I will add that the company reimbursed me immediately for the Scaredy Cut scissors when I told them I was not satisfied. That doesn't change how I feel about the product. I'll probably gift it to someone who can use this type of thing, maybe someone with a medium to big size dog who isn't afraid of having their hair trimmed.Hope that helps!

Olivia, I am the creator of Scaredy Cut and I think it's wonderful for you and your dog that you have a successful relationship with your groomer. If you are getting the grooming your dog needs and wants to be happy and healthy with the groomer then you really don't need to add to that with SCAREDY CUT or any other tool. Q: does this product work for a bichon

I have a Shih Tzu. The cutting will be a little choppy, after 3 weeks it looks good. I recommend the scaredy cut scissorsog if your does not like the electric razors. I also use regular hair cutting shears to even out various area's.

This is an extremely quality product! It is a very sturdy pair of scissors and clips. I was highly impressed. The scissors also make very easy cuts.
