This is a plastic brush
The brush feels great through your hair. It seems to work incredibly well, HOWEVER, it is advertised as being "hand painted wood" which it absolutely, 100% isn't. This is a plastic brush, no doubt about it. That they'd misrepresent the material of the paddle, brings the bristle material into question... so either the description is outdated and not accurate OR this is a fake replica.Because of this, I'm considering returning it because it's not inexpensive for a hairbrush. May consider waiting for a Mason Pearson.

Great price for two quality hair brushes! Improving my hair.
Look, it’s a brush & it’s baby. 😂This is my son’s account and I ordered the small & large of the condition boar bristle hair brushes. I love these brushes! The price is great for the quality and isn’t nearly as expensive as a Mason Pearson (which I’ve also owned in the past). The large one is a nice size & the small one fits nicely into my backpack for work or into a purse. I have waist long hair and bought another brush of decent quality but it wouldn’t get down to my scalp. Yes, it was only $38, but price doesn’t help if it doesn’t work. I use it for my pets now. The only ones that have worked for my very long hair usually have nylon bristles but those have tiny balls on the end to prevent scalp scratching and eventually break down and fall off. These brushes do not have any nylon bristles and certainly don’t need to. They are fabulously stiff bristles on their own. It massages my scalp and my hair looks very shiny afterward. Great price for two beautiful, well-made boar bristle hair brushes. Highly recommended!

Small
This is a travel brush, not full size. Works well at gripping the hair when drying.

Returned the Travel size brush almost immediately so I could purchase the Full size brush.
I've literally never had my hair not be either way too frizzy/have an insane amount of fly-aways for a couple days after washing, and anything past that frizzy period is just a Trailer Park Boys level of greasy until I wash it again. I have quite long hair, hitting about 6 inches or so below my shoulder, and had considered cutting it before I bought this thing and tried it out for 3 days. I know everyone seems to speak to how amazing the brush is already in all the other reviews online, but it made my hair look so good for the first time in a long time that I took the time out of my insanely busy day, IMMEDIATELY AFTER WORK AT THAT(I do manual labor), to write this review. If you're considering it, just go for it. It's a bit pricey, but this is 110% one of those situations where you get what you pay for. Very well made also, so I can't possibly imagining it being degraded to the point that I'd have to purchase a new one in most or all of my lifetime.

Not worth the money.
I bought the travel size brush first, but I have long and fine hair so I need a larger brush. T he small brush has round tips and it is a better quality. I wasted my money on the larger brush.

Another Fantastic Brush By Raincry
I'm a 51-year-old female and I've only used inexpensive hair brushes my entire life. I honestly didn't think that a good quality brush would make any difference at all. Raincry proved me wrong! This is the third Raincry brush that I've ordered. I ordered a smoothing round bristle brush and a detangling paddle brush last month. I love them both! This brush is kind of a hybrid of the other two I ordered. It smooths well, but it also detangles. It is well-constructed and the bristles are strong. I don't expect they will break or fall out over time. The handle is solid, but unlike the Raincry smoothing bristle brush, it is a plastic material and not wood. That being said, it is a high-quality plastic material and the handle is hand painted in France. This brush should last me many years. Regardless of how much I love this brush, when comparing this $120 brush to a $15-$20 boar's bristle paddle brush, I just don't see enough of a difference in quality to justify the price. I think the price is excessively high. For this reason, I assigned 4 stars instead of 5. However, if you have the money to spend on a brush of this quality, the performance is a solid 5 stars.

Brush is good; some issues with handle
This is the third Raincry brand brush I've gotten as a reviewer. One of them, which was obviously wood, impressed me, but the other two, of this handle style, haven't really lived up to the hype for me. Despite the brush being hand painted, to me it looks and feels like molded plastic. I've been unable to find out what the brush is made of, even on the packaging or official site. Making it look more like plastic, there's a divot out of the side of mine, and the brush came with scuffs on it. (Both times, this has been in the open/window area of the packaging.) The travel bag is the same type of "fabric" used for free reusable shopping bags. I feel like something like this deserves a cotton or linen bag. There's nothing wrong with a plastic brush (if it is plastic). It's just that this is supposed to be a luxury brand, and I've been underwhelmed by the feel of the brushes and the look of the body of the brushes, compared to obvious wood brushes (even of their own brand).Let's move on to the more positive things! As for the bristles, after a super negative experience with a different boar bristle brush, one of the things I do even before using one is grab individual bristles and give a tug. These appear to be anchored in really, really well, and I'm not concerned about them falling out.Despite opting for the large brush, I find it to be a nice, normal size, and not too big. The bristles go through my hair, and I can even feel them reaching through to my scalp (which not all brushes accomplish). A thorough brushing with it helps give my hair a nice, smooth feel.So I have mixed feelings. I think the actual brush is nice, five star quality. The body of it having scuffs and a divot, and the travel bag make it a little less nice overall.
