Great Desk for Homeschooling in a Small Space
Ordered two for our small office to use for our two sons that are homeschooling. We (it takes two people to put up)were able to put up one because the other was damaged during shipping and is going back. Re-ordered the second one because they are neat little desks and will work well for what we need. The little shelves are perfect for stashing small supplies (jars with crayons and pencils, bottles of glue, small stapler, etc). We put our son's empty folders and blank worksheets in the paper slots, all ready for school to start (another reviewer had mentioned that there were no bottoms to these slots. Ours is fine, so maybe the manufacturer caught the flaw).A few quick notes:1) Screws included are way too small. We couldn't place the pre-drilled holes on studs, so we used 100 lb anchors for the top two holes and a 75 pound anchor on the bottom hole. Since it seemed like the corner with the file slots needed a screw (and can't have one, it's impossible), we drilled in two extra screws into the one stud we could find behind the desk for extra support (these are not anchors and are well hidden in corners).2) The measurement given in the instructions for placing the unit 57 3/4 inches off the ground was wrong by 1 inch. We opened the desk and it sloped downhill (that inch made a big difference, crayons would roll off), so we had to lower it to about 56 3/4 inches. Now we have extra unused anchors in the wall. When the second one comes, we'll double check the levelness of the desk before drilling in the anchors (you'll need one or two people to help you hold it up to do this, it's heavy!).3) It's awkward to install, just a warning. BUT it is great-looking, functional, and fun to be able to fold down and fold away as needed!4) The walnut color is beautiful. It isn't dark like walnut usually is. It is between medium and dark colored and on the warm side (but not as warm as cherry).5) When the desk is closed, it is sort of boring to see a large wooden box on the wall. We are going to paint the large blank panel with black chalkboard paint (this panel becomes the underside of the desk when opened), so that these units have some function when closed and actually look like framed chalkboards flanking our window in the office.I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. Regardless of the damaged second desk and inadequate installation hardware, I am still giving it 5 stars because, as I said before, it fits our needs (perfectly).

Perfect for teaching from home!
I love this desk! I’ve been teaching from home since March and got tired of the terrible ergonomics of my rolling laptop cart. My wrists were hurting, I felt cramped and unable to stretch out, and worst of all- the thing was just there in my sitting room all the time guilting me for not lesson planning 24/7! So I decided it was time for a change- something ergonomic that I could fold up and forget about when the work day was over! This was a little challenging to install, but that was more due to my lack of a stud finder than the design of the desk itself. Learn from my mistake and either use a stud finder or stick some very small magnets on the wall to help you find (and keep track of) the location of the studs. I didn’t realize I missed the stud on one side on my first install attempt and ended up with a 1 inch hole in my wall. No worries though- I found the stud and it’s not going anywhere now!Once you get past the pain of installation, the desk itself is amazing. It’s very sturdy and durable, and the wood is really good quality. It’s easy to open and close, and there’s just enough storage in the little file folders to hide all of my paperwork and piles of post-its out of sight once the work day is over. If you’re looking for a perfect work from home desk that won’t require you to sacrifice your comfort or living space, this is it!

They liked that is came all assembled and just needed to ...
My daughter loves this desk. She has all her make up stored in and on it and has left room for her homework to be done. My husband and a carpenter friend of mine installed in, no problem. They liked that is came all assembled and just needed to be mounted on the wall. Good quality piece of furniture and a pretty good price.

Space saving and beautiful. My daughter loves it!
This is a marvelous product. Very well made, sturdy, with an attractive slightly distressed finish that is closer to cherry than to walnut. It's quite beautiful, actually. Because it's a little distressed you could probably cover nicks with scratch remover or a marker. If you need one in white you're better off buying this one and painting it. It was very well packed, came with zero damage, already assembled and ready to hang. It is very heavy, so make sure you have at least two people and ideally a tabletop or big books or something to prop it up while you hang it, and you must get it into one or more studs. Measure at least twice before you drill to make sure the desk top is level when it's open. It won't hold up to a lot of weight, so this isn't appropriate for kids who might climb on it. I wouldn't risk it with a sewing machine either. It's great for occasional use, like with a laptop, in a room in which you either don't have room for or don't want a full-time desk (like a bedroom). I bought it to put in my daughters room, she is using it to do her homework, color and has a laptop for use on it. She loves it!

Surprisingly Nice, Sturdy, and High Quality
I must have looked at 30 different models of these types of desks and settled on this one because it looked the nicest and least like cheap furniture. I installed it today and honestly am very pleasantly surprised. The surfaces are all wood veneer and don't have that weird peel-off texture that a lot of MDF based furniture often has. It's less deep than it might seem and looks like a pretty cabinet rather than a huge wooden thing on the wall. My office chair fits perfectly under it and I can even use my under-desk elliptical without banging my knees. Very happy with this purchase so far and looking forward to trying it out for work tomorrow. So far only annoyance is the instruction manual was *useless* when it comes to figuring out how high to mark the holes to screw it in (at one point there is an instruction that says "eye level" and that...is very subjective) but here's a pro tip: the box that it comes in is *almost* the exact right height if you lean it length-wise against the wall and place the desk on top of it, it will hold it up for you so you can at least see pretty close to where it will be. And since I was on a 1/4" high rug it was actually the exact right height to make pilot holes straight through where the screws go and acts as a second pair of hands (that don't get tired) when you're screwing it in, and then you just pull the box out from under it once it's attached to the wall.
