This is perfect. Fits my axe like a glove
This is perfect. Fits my axe like a glove. The ball bearing swivel is amazing and smooth. The Velcro is strong and easy to access even gloved. The clips are sturdy and lock around the straps on my airpack Edit: the clips are not sturdy and do not lock around my straps. Had the holder fall off my belt a couple times in a structure. I cut the clips off and add leather loops. Now it doesn't fall off. Still live everything else and its held up through a couple fires so far. Dont forget to oil the bearings every once in a while.

So far so good. Slides onto Scott harness no problem
So far so good. Slides onto Scott harness no problem. Easily holds standard or short axe. Quick release. Only negative is trying to line axe handle into the sheath can be a challenge as the holder is attached to a swivel. I think the swivel is necessary and useful but if I have to nit pick that's my only complaint. The sheath is secured by Velcro and hopefully will last. I think a single snap would be better but again nitpicking. Made of thick full grain leather, sturdy construction. Will hold a flat head or pick axe. This is a great addition for ladder companies who are constantly multi tasking. Sits nicely on your hip out of the way but you'll always know where it is. Worth a try for $30

Good axe cradle
Well made. I really like the 360 degree swivel. I have used it on various sized axes from 3lb to 7lb axes and they all fit. The belt clip is sturdy but I wish there was a way to make it stay on your belt better. It has slipped off my belt when crouching down a few times. Not a big deal but it’s something that could use some improvement.

not impressed
So far we've been dispatched to three or so fires and in the midst of turning out I can't seem to keep this dang thing on my belt. The clip makes it super easy to fall off your belt, last fire dispatched it fell off in the cab while I was turning out again and I was so pissed I just threw it and I have yet to use it on an actual fire. Not Impressed

Has limited use, sounds like a rattlesnake
For alarms or exposure/exterior assignments, this cradle will do a good job at freeing up your hands. However, I wouldn't trust it to not come unhooked from the SCBA strap while ascending or descending a ladder (imagine this thing coming unhooked 70' in the air on an aerial), search, or advancement of a hose line. I would still consider keeping it just for alarms, but it doesn't have all the ball bearings it should, so as they move around the swivel they make a rattle sound and it's very obnoxious. I'd recommend getting a truck belt with a tool loop. It wont swivel, but it would take much more for the tool to come loose as opposed to the 2-3" braces on the back of the swivel.

Great product
I am not a firefighter, but I do use tools all day long. What I like about this product is it doesn't bind because of gravity. I can be hanging upside down and it slides out easy and won't slip out on its own. It does have more weight than a simpler one, but not much to notice. And no additional noise .

Disappointed
It works...as long as I didn't need it. When i walk around from A. to B. it was fine. I got it so I could climb the main with out tucking the pick head in the belt. The clip would come off or the grip is so tight, I could never pull my axe out without it coming with. Eventually I threw it off the roof into the attic fire. I don't know. Maybe axes are heavier and wider in Chicago. That's why it's 2 stars instead of 1. And no pictures. 👍🏾

Nice leather and good stitching
Works amazingly...got it in and used it that day on a lines down call...was so grateful I bought it so I didn’t have to carry the axe while waiting for utilities to show up
