Q: Is this container sturdy enough for hot sauce to be stored?

Yes, you can store hot things in it. I usually use them to store left over foods (soups, stews, etc.) after we have finished eating but while whatever is still hot, put them on the counter until cooled, apply a strip of tape to the lid, write the contents on the tape and freeze. Scotch tape works well and is easily removed. To thaw, I put the container in the microwave for about a minute, pop the contents into a microwave safe container or slip them into a pot to reheat.

Q: Are there 50 bases and 50 lids, or 25 of each?

It says 48 count. So My guess is 24 container and 24 lids

Q: How does this container hold up after microwave use?

I have never used this containers in the microwave.
