Best paper
Best paper to write on. I love these pads. They are pricey but worth it.

Our fountain-pen household prefers Clairefontaine notebook paper over Miquelrius notebook paper.
2nd time in 2 years that I bought 2 of: Miquelrius 1-Subject Notebook, Graph/Quad-rule (from KaliKeepsakes). Both times: relatively good price for otherwise relatively expensive (but well-worth) item; very good packaging. But I / we much prefer Clairefontaine Classic Wire-bound Notebooks - Graph, French, or Quadrille-ruled (8.27 x 11.69).[Clairefontaine Classic Wire-bound Notebooks sizes(s) are sometimes given as: 8.25 x 11.75. Or they are sometimes listed as: “Clairefontaine brushed vellum or 'wove' 90 g paper”. Or as: "90 g, pH-neutral acid-free paper, extra smooth satin finish; Double wire spiral binding - never snag."]In *any* case, I think they're always listed as being "50-sheets", so 100-pages.However listed, during the two years of trialing Miquelrius notebooks, I've also gotten Clairefontaine wire-bound notebooks from GouletPens ‘‘dot’’ com. My partner (who hand-writes with fountain-pens) has decided that he much prefers the Clairefontaines.I've done some calculations comparing the costs (during the same 2-year period) of the Clairefontaine notebooks to the Miquelrius ones:(8 x 50 sheets = 400 sheets) in 8 Clairefontaine notebooks @ $7.00 ea. (8 x $7.00 = $56.00), which equals $13.95 less, than for same number of sheets (5 x 80 sheets = 400 sheets) in 5 Miquelrius notebooks @ $13.99 ea. (5 x $13.99 = $69.95).That is, for only $0.04 more, we could have 2 more Clairefontaine 50-sheet notebooks (the paper for which we have a decided preference), for the price of the corresponding number of sheets from Miquelrius notebooks!PS: The Staff @ GouletPens are obsessive-compulsives(!) when it comes to preparing orders for shipping.

Stealth Quality Improvement
I have been using these for a while. I have just received a new one and noticed substantial improvements in quality:-paper seem to be a bit brighter/whiter. Before I always felt a bit dark when I went back to my notes.-pages are easier to tear off cleanly. It used to be almost impossiible before.-the spiral has a larger diameter, which is a huge improvement as you can slide most pens inside it now which is very convenientI wish that the paper was a bit smoother such as the Rhodia or Maruman, since I use a Uni-Ball Signo 0.38 which behaves better on ultra smooth paper, but I am sure they will get there.Overall, I think nothing beats the quality, looks and practicality of this notebook for work, class (mathematics, physics, engineering), drawing, sketching.Thank you for the quality improvements!

My Favorite Notebooks
Been writing in Miquelruis Graph (Squared) notebooks (The MR 1 and the MR 4) for years. Nice paper, good graph paper and a micro-perf for tearing them out. What else could you want in a notebook? Maybe a little pricey, but why not.

Great notebook for architects
Love these notebooks. As an architect, I'm picky about what I write on and these have nice paper with a subtle grid. Ink doesn't bleed through and pens glide over the paper nicely. I also like that the cover is not made out of a paper product so I can take it onto a job site and not worry about it getting water-logged if it's raining. I also like that there is a good spot at the top of each page to write in a heading so it's visually easy to go back through my notes to find certain topics.

Disappointed
So this is my fault, I didn't realize these were only 80 pages. I love Miquelrius journals, they've been my go-to for close to 20 years... I used to get the big, thick ones at Barnes & Noble for $10-$12 back in the day. I don't know exactly how many pages were in those, but they're about 6x thicker (if not more) than these. This seems like a ridiculous price for an 80 sheet notebook, and I can't find the old kind anywhere any more. If you're cool with paying this much for an 80 pg notebook, then you should have no issues. I wouldn't have bought this had I realized that. I REALLY miss the old, thick, sturdy notebooks where you got WAY more for your money. :/

Amazing Notebook
I think it's a bit expensive but it's a great notebook. The paper was different but thick. It has a protective plastic cover and the spiral was also sturdy. It came with a plastic cover that prevented it from being bent on the way
