Great fit + Quality + Peace of mind
Pros: Great fit + Quality + Peace of mind! My pup got the fit and quality she needs to keep her mobility while offering me peace of mind as she recovers from bladder surgery.Very Minor Cons: Limited Color Choices + Oopsie!- Would love more color options as black shows all of her golden fur (not a surprise and expected).- My partner forgot to undo the snaps during a walk and... you can imagine the rest. Luckily it is machine washable but now I'm back buying a second one as back-up (yes, I like it this much).Note: This is machine washable but is air-dry vs tumble dry - I wouldn't let this stop you from buying, but it's good to know!Dog Description: My pup is a rescue / mix of 7 breeds, but the best quick description is a golden retriever with basset hound height legs (I call her a low-rider).Why this was needed: My pup had surgery to remove bladder stones. The vet provided a really nice quality e-collar/cone that's padded but she would bang into things and refused to lay down by herself with it on. Her mobility and sight were very limited as the cone would catch on the floor (due to her being a low-rider). In addition, she started using her hind-legs to scratch and no cone was going to prevent this from happening. My vet recommended her to wear a t-shirt, but it was very challenging to keep on her (even getting inventive with some clips and rubber bands to try to keep it in place). I knew I needed to find an alternative and began researching online.Research: I wanted a suit that would fit her low-rider body, be comfortable, protect her wound as she healed, and prevented the hind leg scratching. I was initially interested in suits that utilized Velcro so that maybe I would have more options to adjust to her size. I read quite a few reviews browsing pictures and videos to see how the dog looked in the suit and seeing if anyone else had a low-rider. In the end the high star reviews landed this one in my top two choices (see the back-up purchase).Sizing: I did use a soft tape measure to get her length (as recommended). I was concerned that even with the correct length that her girth (basset hound) and fluffy fur (golden retriever/chow) would not be size appropriate. I ordered a medium and I am VERY pleased with the result. It really fits her well even with her thick golden/chow mixed fur. She's able to get around (even stairs once she was recovered enough) without an issue. The sleeveless option works with her short legs and the tail opening also works very well with her bushy tail.Sizing: She's overall very comfortable and hasn't had any issues with laying down/feeling restricted. I will add she is NOT a clothing/dress-up dog - she especially doesn't like thing on her head. I had no issues putting this on her initially and asides from doing extra shake-offs (not enough to be concerning) she was herself again. If you're really concerned, I recommend measuring as directed and if you're still not sure, potentially buy two sizes. I was lucky that my first choice worked as well as it did -- I was VERY eager to get these after watching her like a hawk.Quality: The fabric is soft, breathable, and has some give/flexibility (reminds me of a soft good quality t-shirt). The leg holes are well made and offer flexibility, and the snaps are easy to use (both on and off) and stay in place without an issue. I have not used the extra pocket for gauze/padding or an ice pack, but it is a nice feature if I felt she needed it. The blue fabric has allowed me to keep tabs on her recovery (looking for wound leak issues which there hasn't been). I also like the ease of using the snaps. When taking her for walks/bathroom, we do undo the snaps but haven't used the way the manufacture intended. I appreciate that the product designer had the insight to add this level of detail. But we merely fold up the suit and reuse the hind snaps to secure it in place vs the additional snap underneath which has worked fine for us.Peace of mind / Pup Recovery without and with suit -- Licking: Overall, I did not see my pup lick her wound obsessively but knew that this will likely ramp up as she heals. With the cone not working out, I am very pleased to have this suit as an alternative (we're still early into her recovery as I write this).Peace of mind / Pup Recovery without and with suit -- Scratching: Due her tummy being shaved for surgery; I think this was prompting some of the hind leg use for scratching. Prior to getting the suit, I would stop her from scratching using verbal commands. However, we can't watch around the clock, and I noticed some scratch marks/redness/irritation around the area vs. the surgical wound itself. I do feel like since getting the suit she isn't as prone to scratching. I do still need to watch her, but I don't feel like I have to watch her as closely and have been able to sleep without as much worry. In addition, I did purchase some "made for dogs" skin treatment that I put on her after her walks to help with the skin irritation. Overall, I have noticed improvement since having both products. We'll see how the rest of her recovery goes. The back-up purchase: After having this suit on her for a couple of days, I was going to return my back-up unopened. However, due to the "oopsie" I talked about previously (see cons), I ended up putting the other one while this one is hanging to dry. It's one that looks more like a surgical gown with multiple cloth ties (again I was going for things that I felt would fit her size). Unfortunately, while wearing this, the ties have already gotten in the way a bit / needed further adjustment. She struggled going up the stairs and slipped out of the front-leg sleeves (once of my main concerns due to her short legs). I probably could do more to make it work but after having the first suit work so well, I wouldn't give the back-up one another chance. I'm writing this review with my pup confined in the room with me while I continue to wait for the first one to dry.

Great Product!
Our 1.5 year old Australian Shepherd was spayed a week ago. They sent her home with a cone and she was so miserable. I had already ordered this product but I did it too late and we didn’t have it yet. She cried all night long and wouldn’t move. She was miserable. The next day I went to pet smart and they had a surgical recovery suit, but the fit was wrong. For her weight (55 lbs) the suit did not cover her stitches which is literally the only point of the suit. The next size down was uncomfortably tight on her. Also, the way the snaps and Velcro worked it was cumbersome. Then this suit by Suitical came in the mail and EVERYTHING CHANGED! It fit comfortably with much better fabric. The poly-cotton blend was stretch enough and soft enough to wear but has still been durable.I took her for a walk and she urinated before I could get it unsnapped. (It was my fault). So I had to remove it and wash it for her. I washed it by hand in the sink and then dried it on cool, air dry. It did not lose its shape or size!!This dog is so special to me. I want her to have as easy a time as possible. It would not have happened without this product. The Suitical suit protected her stitches while being comfortable enough for her to wear 24 hours a day during her recovery. She is happy and recovering nicely. I am going to recommend to all of my friends. This is the way to go, without question.

Wonderful Suit, Great Buy!!
Our youngest dog just had her spay surgery & I found this surgery suit for dogs on Amazon. I must say it's a definite win! Our vet loved it so much & said it's a great alternative to putting her in the cone of shame. It's easy to get on, it rolls up & snaps for when they have to go potty, so you don't have to take it all the way off. It has snaps in the back to keep it on & in place, so much better than velcro. It has a high neck that is better shaped to their actual neck, so it doesn't slide down & come off over their chest. It stretches enough to get it on & allow them to move comfortably, but without over stretching & becoming too loose. The leg & tail holes are perfect size, no squeezing sausage legs. My dog seems much happier in it than the cone & is more calm & relaxed wearing it. It has multiple layers over the stomach for extra protection, as well as a pocket to put an ice pack or pad in, if needed. Our dog has a 24.5" back length, 27.5" chest girth, & is 54lbs. We bought the medium & it fits perfectly. I highly recommend getting the size suggested in the chart based off your dog's measurements. If they are between sizes, get the smaller size. You only need to buy the plus size if your dog is muscle beefy, chunky, over weight, or super fury. This is a great suit!

Didn't quite fit my boxer
Overall the suit was good. It was easy to get my dog in and out of and stayed in place. My dog was unable to lick his incision from his neuter surgery. It did not fit tightly across his belly as he is a boxer with a broad chest and narrow waist. It might work better for a more barrel shaped dog. That being said, it was comfortable and the dog tolerated it well.

Life Saver for Antsy Sheltie
There is absolutely no way our 10 month old sheltie could survive the 14 day recovery time in the e-collar cone after being spayed. This recovery suit is such a great alternative and super functional. She was immediately at ease once we put it on her. It’s very easy to snap up for when she has to go outside to the bathroom. The material is soft and breathable and I don’t think she will be able to access her incision at all. The fit is also great.

Too long on my mix breed dog
Ordered per instructions yet after neutering surgery it fit pretty well but I can’t confirm that or quality for it was about 4” too long. Then I went through 3 ecollars. I didn’t realize the surgery was such a big deal but it is. Be prepared and buy 2-3 sets to avoid cone of shame whose clips fall off, donut Velcro closing chewed off and deflated within 15 minutes. The third too tight grrrr rough surgery for my boy he got to that area almost requiring another surgery to repair.

Rough Collie 70lb 2XL post-neuter suit with pouch (very useful if hot/cold pack recommended by vet)
I ordered this suit for my 2 year old rough collie (wt 70 lbs) to wear post-neuter surgery. I debated between getting an XL or 2XL as his back measurement was 32 inches and the size chart suggested ordering the smaller size if in between 2 sizes. I opted for the larger 2XL as I did not want a tight fit and he has a lot of floof. It fits him perfectly and there are 2 sets of snaps to adjust the fit. It has a light blue liner (useful for identifying any discharge from surgical site) with a most useful pouch and I am able to add a hot/cold gel pack as recommended by vet to address some swelling. My dog did not bother or fuss with the suit at all to get at surgical site, however, for a dog who was very motivated it may be possible to gain access through the leg opening if it is loose (in which case a smaller size and tighter fit may be preferable). We had a cone from the vet but we did not need to use it. It looks very well made and has been washed and dried several times using gentle cycle and is holding up well. This suit has made his after care much easier. Definitely recommend!

Should’ve bought this one first!!
I bought a onesie (different company) and an inflatable collar for my golden retriever to protect sutures following neuter surgery. Neither worked so this one was the third try. The measuring tool was very accurate for sizing and the onesie fit perfectly, snug around legs without being tight. Fabric was soft to the touch. So comfortable my dog wanted to wear it longer than he needed to. Easy to get on and off or roll up part way when we took him out to pee. Washed well. Honesty I wish I’d found this one first and that id bought two so I could switch out and wash one as needed.
