USG Durock Tile Underlayment Membrane - 75 SQ FT Roll

I used this membrane in two bathrooms this past year. Very easy to apply to prepped wood subfloor. If applied properly - no water leakage. I did not use a roller to apply Tile Membrane Adhesive; I used a heavy bristle 4in brush which reduced waste. If you run out of adhesive, Henry 314 is a "Type 1 Organic Adhesive" that is a match and you can pick up at any hardware store. Con: it's expensive. Pro: I'm a 67 year old female who did not want to carry and cut heavy cement board. I set the tile (experienced) and had a plumber install toilet and vanity. Very good product.

I installed this under our tile that I put down in our new home. The total footage was 2,700 square feet to cover the floors of our new home. It was a little messy to spread the glue down, but it much faster and efficient than regular hardi backer. I highly recommend to all who put down tile!

This saved us! It allowed us to keep the new tile at the same height as the old tile which was thinner and had 1/4 backer board under it. With this product, our .4" tile and thinset comes to the same height, yay! We really did not want the floors to be at different heights and this worked great. Using again when we do the master bathroom.

I used this product over formica because, frankly, I didn't want to rip the existing formica walls out. They were still in solid shape so I looked into the orange membrane (Schleuter / Ditra) but they were very expensive. Over $250 at the big box stores. This stuff worked perfectly. They give you plenty of glue...I only used one container for my 70 sq ft job. The key to a successful application is to wait for the adhesive to set up. If you try to apply the membrane before the glue has had a chance to dry to a tacky adhesion, you'll be chasing your tail. Once it gets tacky, it's actually quite easy to apply and get any air bubbles out. Excellent product!!

Very good product. Bought 3 packages for several areas in new home. There is some memory in the roll, which wanted to lift at the edges. By backrolling the edges we were able to get it to stick better. Comes with plenty of adhesive for the roll. Very nice to tile over.

This kit worked well over the Durock (r) cement board substrate. Some tile people say they do not use it but I wanted the anti-crack protection it offers. Please note that the adhesive stays tacky for a long time and you may do well to let adhesive sit for a few minutes before starting with the membrane. Start with a horizontal piece at the bottom and overlap as you move up. DO mark your backer board also where membrane will go and mark center of backer board and center of membrane as well as use dashes to indicate a horizontal line before you install. This will make alignment easier.NEVER do a tile job over drywall as you WILL have mold and moisture problems. Lots of help on You Tube.

This was just the right product to retile our dated shower without having to remove the old tile. Note: we had to let the adhesive set a lot longer than indicated.

The membrane is easy to apply and works as advertised. My only complaint is that barely enough adhesive came with the package. Make sure you are careful not to waste the adhesive.
