From hiking the Inca trail to trekking the Low Countries of Europe, the world is your oyster with the Eagle Creek Women's Deviate 60L Travel Backpack. It has a large main pack with tons of features to help you manage your main load, and it also has a smaller zip-off modular backpack for day hikes or trips into town. Rugged fabrics help it withstand life on the road (or trail), and the FlexFlo suspension system features a molded polycarbonate framesheet that helps your bag maintain its shape without tacking on bulk or weight. Compression straps help balance the load and keep things securely in place. A three-liter hydration compartment keeps water handy on long treks, and the Air Mesh shoulder straps, back panel, and waist belt allow for cool and comfortable carrying. It's also equipped with a Check-In Fly that serves as a rain cover when you get caught in a storm and also doubles as a zippered duffel bag in case you come back from your trip with more stuff than you started. The zip-off modular backpack is perfect for when you don't need to lug around your entire pack while hiking a nearby peak or exploring the local town. It has a padded electronics pocket to keep your phone or tablet safe and sound, and the RFID Blocker pocket prevents identity theft. Reflective accents make you more visible at night, and color-coded webbing loops make it easy to reattach to the main pack when you're ready to see what's next.

A stylish pack with good functions
I always travel with a suitcase and this is my first travel pack. I've chosen Eagle Creek Deviate after reading reviews comparing various travel packs. Most of these travel packs come with many practical features for travellers but I find the Deviate travel pack looks the best. The bag is well made with durable material. I love the design of a detachable daypack and the multifuctional Check-in Fly acting both as a rain cover and as a duffel. The discrete compartment hidden in the bottom of the lid and the RFID compartment in the daypack give a sense of security. The size is just perfect - enough for a 1-2 week trip and yet sized as a carry-on. A little pity that there's no dedicated space for my 15" laptop (doesn't fit into the compartment intended for a water bladder, but still can be stored in the main pack).

Great bag for comfort, convenience and travel safety.
I purchased this pack for a 4 week trip to Central America, and it worked great. It was a skosh to big to take on the plane, as I had a roll on it, but if you pack smart (and aren't flying a discount carrier) take it apart for your carry on and personal item. I used the included rainfly/duffle to check and it worked fine. This combo pack separates into a 45L and 15L pack, so I could leave the larger stuff in hostel lockers, and carry water, and incidentals with me.You can thread a cable through all of the zippers for use with a lock (of course, it won't stand against a knife), including the detachable top sack, so it keeps pickpockets at bay. Extremely comfortable (I tried on quite a few). I am 5' 8' and 170 lb female.
