Practicing Mage Dictionary
This book has sooo much knowledge collected throughout the ages. It's been my greatest source of definitions, experiences, and practices. My only regret is that I wish I would had bought a hardback copy or an actual physical copy instead on an electronic copy.

I love the diagrams. They help to understand what you've read. Pretty sure i screen shot them all so I can cone back letter and reread a particular script.

Great book in root systems and alphabet linguistics. Ideally suited for researchers and Historians alike. I bought it in kindle version so I can use the txt to speech function.

Sources & Citations???
isappointed that a book, whose primary function is about "history and function of magick symbols", lacks any citations as to where Jackson obtained the information provided. Considering that M.B. Jackson is an unknown author and has no biographical information or listed credentials, I would expect at least a few sources to validate what is provided. Sadly the closest thing Jackson gave us is a list of "Further Reading" on the last page (62 in total). While a few better known writers/artists are listed like Aleister Crowley and Rudolph Koch, "wikipedia" and "angelfire" is added as well (without even a subpage). The book is aesthetically pleasing, to say the least, but with its lack of credibility I can not recommend it, let alone even use it. If you are serious about studying magick, symbols, and ciphers, then I would look elsewhere.

Gutes Buch/Good Book
It is thin like a magazine but it holds quite a bit of information. It is large enough so the images are seen well. I'm glad I bought it. It is a great reference tool. A lot of the unnecessary fluff is left out. The author's writing is direct and to the point.

Simbolism at its best
Hooray, have written two previous reviews recently which have lambasted a publication and its author it is nice to be able to speak well of a book for once. Sigils, Ciphers & Scripts is, as the title suggests a book which puts forward all those known symbols which have followed us since man became aware of his place in nature, shame he hasn't kept the same balance with the others who inhabit this world but that's another story and not for here. I have as some people may be aware a large collection of books relating to The Occult being a practising Luciferian, many are tomes which have been written two or three hundred years ago or more, despite translation they have lost something as many of the rituals don't or cant work. Writers such as A. E. Waite, Dr S Skinner and others have done their best to give us the correct renditions by employing specialists in linguistics to decipher the texts but they still miss something and this is where a book such as this comes into its own. It doesn't try to blind your eyes with 'razzle' or name dropping or any such unorthodox attempts to blind-side the buyer but just gives you the facts known for each of the different sigils, ciphers and scripts. Understanding the background of these actually helps you to understand the mind behind the magical texts which we desperately try to analyse to complete our ritual work and it does that and more. I cannot make a statement where I can specifically say it has changed a ritual and bought a demonic spirit to our plane that would be an exaggeration, what it has done has made it easier to understand what it is and why it was developed which is by far the best outcome. A brief introduction to each sigil, cipher or script and then the sigil, cipher or script is revealed for all to see, superb, what more could I have asked for! Well, a bit of a moan, most books are a standard size which fits onto my shelves nicely, this is well, a wee bit big, just over A4 in size I think and for all its pluses this means it wont find a space in my library which is such a shame, why they couldn't have reduced the size is beyond me, perhaps the requirement to give you the sigil, cipher and script on the same page as the decoding of such, who knows! Apart from that wee whinge its a book I will find somewhere to store and will no doubt refer to it again and again, I may even try to devise my own script from the ones given. Well worth every penny, if it comes out in a hard-backed copy and smaller size I will be buying it. So there you are a good book with everything you need to know about sigils, ciphers and scripts between its pages, well maybe not everything but we cant be too picky can we?

A most excellent book
A most excellent book. Precise, compact and well written. If this is a subject that interests you then I suspect this is a very necessary book. I have seen recently that there is a new edition out in a bigger book format , text one side and images on the other which is rather convenient but not essential.
