Easy install, no leak, pleased so far
Arrived promptly and installation was very easy. Hardest part of installation wad going to lowes to get pvc’s needed, pvc primer and glue. I would buy it with the device next time.. Otherwise all that was needed was a hack saw to fit auto chlorinator to existing lines. I’ve had it running for a couple of weeks, no leaks and seems to be running well. I would recommend wrench to remove cap to add chlorine. Not sure about efficiency yet but chlorine levels improving.

VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!
I am female and had no problems setting this up correctly. You have to make sure the proper piece goes in the inlet/outlet by following the directions. Also hook up to your pump correctly and everything will work fine. Quality seems just as good as my Hayward which I've had to replace several times already.

is great
I have one now and has been great for 5 years. i would say it is just as good as other brands at its task. I have to say any chlorinator will harm ther pool heater. i tried everything and eventually after sitting idle the water and chemical will leach to the equipment AKA pool heater and pump. Not as quickly mind you as the inline units but it will migrate. I even replace the check valve once and it still leaches out Could be that debris that is unfiltered from the pump/ chlorinator inlet hold the check valve open some but let it be known my experience. Lost heater after 2 years of summer use (perforated) heat exchanger.I don't consider this a fault of this particular item. We are handling very strong chemicals

Cheap plastic.
So, like some of you, I was looking for a name brand alternative in hopes of finding a chlorination that is easy to open and close, keeps chlorine in my pool and doesn’t require another thought really after installation until refill time. Alas. This isn’t it. I do agree with other reviews. This is definitely easier to open and close than the Hay…. brand. BUT, it’s cheaply made. First, regardless of setting on the dial, no (or very minimal) chlorine was getting to my pool. Second, two pieces broke off (valves) by the second time I opened this. I don’t have that strong of an arm or grip. Luckily, I was within my return window, and I sent this back. There also seems to be a shortage of chlorinators (in addition to chlorine!) this year, so I’ve thrown a floater into the pool until I can find an offline replacement. I do apologize to the manufacturer for this crummy review, but others need to know. And I did want to be excited about your product. And am so disappointed it didn’t work out.

Don’t stand the test of time!!
The cap has failed 3 times and had to buy a complete new unit because the cap isn’t sold alone.

Initial impression: better lid & better construction than Hayward. Opened/closed easily!
OK, so the pool came with a Hayward, which worked OK for years. I then replaced it with another Hayward, which was terrible from day one. Dial didn't want to go all the way from "off" to "full." Lid NEVER went on smoothly. Had to replace the o-ring multiple times almost every year because it would get pinched. Needed to use pliers to get it off last summer--and pliers didn't work this spring! This one arrived today. Opened and closed smoothly. Not leaking without overtightening! Came with teflon tape. This unit is a single-piece base (Hayward's was 2 pieces, and would slip off if you picked up the unit.) Install was the same as the Hayward. The only two things I can comment on that may not be positive is the lid opens/closes strangely. (I'm not going to call it an issue--just different than Hayward's.) Also, Hayward puts a "click-stop" notch to make sure you tighten it enough...not that it actually stopped you from turning it tighter. This one doesn't have that, though it was tight enough to prevent it from leaking--without effort!I'll change the post if it degrades over the summer. However, this was a great UPGRADE over the brand-name.
