Fantastic mini hifi system
I am over the moon with this mini hi fi system, the sound quality is amazing at this price. I was diagnosed as deaf when I was 5 years old and although my hearing is bad I am tone deaf not stone deaf, this means listening to music can be difficult as I struggle to hear the lyrics especially on poor sound quality equipment but as my hearing has worsened over the last 60 years I still enjoy music so needed a budget CD player, my son suggested 3 different systems but I chose this one because it was only £79.99 and being on a tight budget I thought this would be a good choice. The system arrived today and I cannot believe the quality of sound, my son also came round and even he is impressed with just how good this mini hi fi is. I am not technical in anyway so I cannot decipher the technical terms but what I can say is if you are looking for a budget friendly system then you can't go wrong trying this one. The set up is plugging in the 2 speakers, plug in the power cable, plug the system to a power outlet, turn the power on at the back, push the power button on the front, load your CD and push play, it is that simple. The mini hi fi comes with other cables to be able to connect to a TV, plug into equaliser, play dvds and has 2 microphone plugs but I will never use these as all I needed was a CD player, I have also asked my son if he can tune in my favourite radio station as it has fm radio as well but that is all I need it for and I am going to have many happy hours listening to all of my music be it rock, country, classical, pop or whatever music I am in the mood to listen to. The system also comes with a 1 year guarantee that you need to register but the quality of the system looks like it will last for quite a while. As you can expect I would recommend you try this system if like me you like listening to cds and you need a system that doesn't take up too much space this could be what you are looking for.

What's wrong with the Roxel RCD-250BT
Well first is the ease of working with the unit. I opened the box and put it together in less than 6 minutes. The speakers were so easy to connect to the small base unit. I inserted the plug into the machine and the wall power socket and switched both on. I inserted a CD after glancing at the setup guide. I pushed the open/shut button it had a smooth and very quick action. I inserted the CD and again clicked open/shut button. The sound for me was acceptable and there was a reasonable Base to the sound outage and the acoustics filled the room. That was as I noted was at half volume. The speakers are 20W output. It has an FM radio and to make things even better it has the option of Karaoke function with a mike input and all the essential wires to connect to a monitor or TV. For the price it is a very good Mini Hi-Fi System. Everything is as it say's is on and in the box. I can say to you all that is reading this review. This small Hi-Fi Unit kicks a punch way above it's limit.

A shame I couldn’t give it no stars at all
This Roxel item is so bad that the maker should hang their head in shame. It’s CD player is the worst part. Cheap though it is I expected it would work at least. All cds skip, jump or stop. I haven’t found a single one that will play on this. It’s sound is just about bearable but despite its alleged EQ ability, there is no noticeable difference no matter what the eq is set at. Anything plugged into the aux port is doomed to be virtually inaudible. It’s remote control is ineffective. It looks and feels cheap and nasty because it is cheap and nasty with loose keys rattling around often doing nothing even when pressed. it doesn’t even come with any batteries. In short, don’t touch this rubbish with a barge pole.

BEWARE! PLAYBACK GAPS!
Sound-wise I can't fault this CD player, especially at such a good price. There are several EQ presets to choose from. It's also quite a compact unit without being dinky. The system itself was easy to set up with no problems... But! The first disc I played was a live CD. I was delighted by the sound, but when track one ended there was a one second gap before track two started... and so it continued. Now this wouldn't be so apparent with a studio-recorded CD, but when applause suddenly cuts off for a second in a concert recording, it is brutal for the listening experience. The same would apply to albums where several tracks are joined up as one intended sequence. There is no way to fix this as there are no playback options, and CD players generally offer continuous playback as a default feature. I didn't take the opportunity to see how the player worked as a dvd or MP3 player because I packaged it up immediately and returned it. What a pity! I would have given the player 5 stars but I deducted a star for the gaps.

Good for the money
I have had this system for a week now and it does not disappoint. The CD volume is LOUD (louder than other modes), plus the EQ modes are great. Audio input (using my turntable and separate cassette deck) are also good. Bluetooth worked well. SD/USB worked well. Region free DVD playback worked well. I also like the fact that when you switch off the system after listening to a CD, when you put it on again, it remembers where you were on the disc. That’s why there is a power switch on the front AND the back! You really do need to attach this system to a TV with the supplied RCA cable to use most of the functions, however not all TV's, like mine, have an RCA input, so I used a SCART converter to get around this. The only niggle is the speaker wire length and connector type. They seem to use their own connector so it’s not possible extend the wire. You could use the audio from the RCA output to get extra sound though such as to a sound bar, I have tried this and it works.

Rattling
Was looking for a compact unit to improve the sound of my TV, so had been looking around. Looked at various options, then saw this unit the not only plays CDs, but has an SD slot, USB, is Bluetooth, and! plays DVDs to...yes perfect, but was expensive, so left it. Then Black Friday came so I had another look, and someone told me that "used" doesn't always mean "used" they can just be returns. So I gave it ago. First thing I notice as I opened the box is how light the unit is, almost weighs nothing, I turned it over to see how the speakers attached, and you have to use the speakers that come with it, as they plug into the back, it was then that I noticed a rattle, something had come loose inside the unit, it could be a screw, a pin, or the Lazer eye that reads discs, so without even unwrapping it, so plugging it in, it's going back for a refund, I also thought it would be a better quality unit, but sadly no.
