Franciscan Prayer

Dr. Delio, a Franciscan of the First Order, and also a well-respected writer in Christology, is on the circuit a great deal giving her insights into mystical Chritianity. This book, one of ten or eleven she has authored, is a very practical, yet sensitive aproach to the difficult process of contemplative prayer. Practical "how-to's" given with compassion for those who have difficulty descending to a place within where there is a peace and a fellowhip with what she calls the eternal spirit of the universe. Conversationally written, it's worth a go, especially for those who like to say, "Well, I'm not religious, but I am spiritual." Stand by. This is a test.

Seven of us were looking for a book to use on a retreat about St. Francis. The retreat design is read a chapter the day before and spend morning in meeting reflecting on the material. Delio provides reflection questions at the end of each chapter which provoked a lot of soul searching and valuable sharing. It's more about Franciscan spirituality than about St. Francis' life.

Best book on the subject I have read. Explains how the attributes of Franciscan life are part of prayet and vice versa.

Probably one of the best books on spirituality and prayer I've ever purchased. A must have for anyone wanting to study and apply Franciscan spirituality in their lives!

The book was written in a concise and clear manner. Very informative, thought provoking, and challenging. An outline to the Franciscan path of contemplation, meditation, prayer, and life. This is truly an inspired work.
