It’s hard to believe that a jarred Bearnaise sauce could be as good and as authentic tasting as this product. It’s really tasty. Once you’ve opened the jar, the flavor tends to diminish a little bit over time.

See headline. But here is the thing. Sauce Bearnaise can apparently be served hot or cold. This product has to be refrigerated after it is opened, so it appears to be the cold sauce , which is made with mustard. When served hot, mustard often isn't an ingredient. Mustard, in my view, adversely affects the flavor. I had always had bearnaise hot, with steak. I was so disappointed when I tasted this product that I googled bearnaise sauce,, only to learn that there are two ways it can be served. I added a little terragon .to the product. Taste improved. I am NOT a gourmet type, but Bearnaise has such a wonderful taste that I thought I would order some. I had not tasted bearnaise for fifty years. SO, I am raising my rating to four stars; first, because I did not have the full story about hot/cold distinction when rating the product and second, because I am grateful that people take the time and trouble to make a superb condiment available internationally. The fifth star goes to Amazon for electing to offer it.

A big disappointment concerning taste, especially for the price.

I love this company’s Bearnaise sauce despite the cost. However, my last order for 4 jars sent me Hollandaise sauce instead. The jars look the same and I didn’t catch it until too late to return. So disappointed….So beware, and check the jars when you order….

This Maille bearnaise sauce is surprisingly good. Great flavor and consistency. Just as good in its way as the real thing!

Fab with steak

La salsa è ottima, molto adatta per carni bollite, arrosti di maiale, würsteln ecc.

Used to buy this a specialty markets locally, but now have to order it here from overseas suppliers. Worth the extra wait for delivery. Great product.
