Affordable, sturdy and sustainable.
These are great storage cubes: perfect size for my needs, they look good, but are also lightweight and made from recycled, sustainable materials that are surprisingly sturdy.First one I built was a bit tricky and the sides fell down on me a couple times before I got the hang of it. Second one I had done in five minutes. No sweat. Putting the cubes together was actually kinda fun. Here are a few tips:1. Use some wood glue for an easier build and sturdier final product. Just dab a little in the dowel holes before you put the dowels in. The adhesive tape is adequate, but it goes smoother with a tiny bit of glue. You don't need a lot.2. Don't get frustrated when the first couple pieces don't stay upright on you. It takes a tiny amount of practice. After you put together your first cube, you could probably start cranking out like ten an hour. I think some of the reviewers here gave up too quickly and did not use glue like I did.3. It is not meant to be picked up from the underside of the top piece, especially when there are books or other items inside. That will pull the top off. No adhesive is that strong. Screws in particle board aren't that strong either. Pick it up from the bottom or take everything out of it before you move it. Use common sense. That's pretty much it. I shopped around a lot for similar products but I kept coming back to this one. Finally I gave it a chance and I am glad I did. If you consider yourself capable of assembling a box, you can do this. It is cheap and lightweight, yes, but for all the right reasons.Best of all: Sustainability!

Literally the worst product I have ever bought
Literally the worst product I have ever bought.I have purchsed three different models of this, and all of them are complete junk. Where to start. Maybe literally the worst product I have ever bought, anywhere.First, when it says the technology is ‘paper’ they aren’t kidding. These things weight ‘ounces’ and seem so fragile I would be afraid to put more than 6 ounces on them.Second, the ‘tape’ they use is such a terrible idea, it doesn’t work. Period. It’s not strong. Also, on SEVERAL of the pieces I tried to assemble, while trying to remove the ‘backing’, which would leave the double stick tape on the piece as need, the WHOLE piece of tape just peeled away from the product. It was then literally impossible to get the tape back on the product. This whole design is just terrible. See my photos for what happened on the piece the tape DID stick to, when I tried to pick up the piece to move it.Also, the units are designed to be ‘stackable’. Or so it claims. But the completely open cubby has NO peg holes to allow you to stack on top of other units. The cubby wiht the shelf does, the unit with the doors do, but the unit with just open space, no. Um, WHY.Do NOT waste your money. I wanted to build a little four unit thing for some office organization. Instead, if I can even return the ‘pieces’ I’ll do so, otherwise it’ll likely go right into the trash. It’s junk. The cost I spent for four pieces would have bought a proper particle board or MDF shelf, held together by screws that would simply work.Lesson learned, and you have been warned.

A superior eco-friendly product; low cost and easy to assemble in under 5 minutes.
We moved from MI to CA recently and storage became a problem for my wife and me. I had purchased 2 of these 8 months ago and needed an additional. Ordered and received normally with no damage. I assembled the unit, but discovered something was not right when the unit collapsed because of inadequate adhesive contact. I called "Jimmy" and was able to resolve the problem with a few photographs. Now I'm not an engineer, but I have taught a number of engineers how to write change orders. I determined that a warping of adhesive edges must have occurred. Perhaps they were in a warehouse too long. Who knows. Jimmy sent a replacement the next day and the problem was solved.RJT

Solid value
Over time, I've bought around a dozen WayBasics products, most for either shoes or DVDs. They're really simple to assemble and hold up well. My first product from them is a monitor stand. It looks as good now as it did three years ago. This is not proper expensive furniture. I wouldn't dare put damp shoes away before they're completely dry. They seem a little pricey to me, but I'm willing to pay a little extra to be kinder to the planet. Overall, I recommend.

Good and Bad
I bought a pair of these as studio monitor stands and storage for the top of my workstation desk. There are pros and cons to this item.Pros:Lightweight and relatively sturdyLifetime warrantyEasy to assemble.Decent packagingAs stated, these are easy to assemble with the peel and stick 3M adhesive strips already adhered to the areas for assembly. In order to get an even better connection I used some gorilla glue, which may be overkill, but it helped keep the wood dowels in place and provided extra adhesion.Cons;Lightweight, hollow core paper material doesn't stand up to impacts wellEven though the flat packs were fairly well packaged it doesn't matter if something crushes a corner of the box. It will get to the materials inside and damage them (like I experienced with one of them).I think these will work for me for a while. They aren't the prettiest storage cubes as one can easily see the adhesive tape contrasting with the black outer surfaces. This may be completely different with the lighter boxes.
