Inspired by the sleek edges of a jet aircraft, hence the name ‘mach’ 3. The mach 3 black – blue tips is a matte black hand-made acetate flattop frame, which features hand-placed ethically sourced zingana wood accents on the front and layered detail in the middle of the frame. The zingana wood is ethically sourced then treated to protect from natural de-colorization and aging. The temple is designed with matching zingana wood to compliment the design aesthetic of the wood used in the detail of frame. The back earpiece of the temple is designed with matte blue acetate to compliment the matte black acetate used during production. The earpiece may be functionally used to adjust the frame as needed by an eye care professional. On top of the frame reads, carpe diem – meaning ‘seize the day’ in Latin and mmviii – the year jamal robinson began designing sunglasses, starting the desiar brand. The mach 3 black – blue tips frame is handled over 100 times throughout the production process.
