The problem is the chain used to raise and lower the blind - the chain is joined by a heavy plastic clip that cannot fit through the eyelet the chain is meant to go through. As a result, one can only raise the blind to a certain height. The height is good enough for the cats to look out the window, but in an ideal world, I'd be able to raise the blind open all the way. Seems like someone should have caught this at some point in the design process.I'm torn between a 3 and a 4, it should be a 3.5. However it block light wonderfully, it was a fairly easy install, and the price was not bad. Can't comment on the durability yet as it's only been up a month.

I bought this for a door in my bedroom which opens to the outside and has a full length window in it. Almost the whole door is a window, with mini-blinds built in between the panes of glass. The blinds give privacy but don't blackout the light.There is about 4"-5" of door around all sides of the window. So I mounted these shades above the window area. Mounting was easy and the apparatus works smoothly. The fabric does a good job.The only issue is that it is necessarily mounted as an exterior mount above the window (of the door). The mounting brackets hold the roller and blackout shades well away from the mounting surface - a good inch or so. This lets quite a lot of light still come in. Because of the doorknob, I was not able to extend past the window size by the recommended 4". I'd certainly recommend that extra width if you can do it, as it should help. But it would be better if the shades mounted closer to flush against the wall/door/window - or perhaps if there were some guides to help hold the shades closer to flush.I did improve the situation by using the plastic clip provided to hold the bottom of the operating chain and repurposed it to guide the blinds closer to the surface of the window. Not perfect, but it helps.

Even with the brackets installed, the overall width leaves about a half-inch on either side, allowing just enough light to keep the room from total darkness. Aside from the width not being correct, when extended all the way, there's only a couple of pieces of tape holding the shade onto the metal rod. The materials are pretty cheap overall. Probably should have cost a third of what it was. The chain, which is plastic, has a clear link piece that if not adjusted properly doesn't allow the chain to go through the rotating mechanism. Installation was simple enough.

The media could not be loaded.  At first I had a really hard time figuring out how to install, just because the instructions were pretty much only photos. The wall anchor included is also a bit weak, so you may want to get some stronger ones. My dad was able to instal perfectly though! I sadly bought the wrong size for it to fit in my window, but we just attached it to the ceiling for a seamless finish. It’s very dark with the light off, and I can see my projector screen great in the day time due to its black out capabilities.

I ordered one of these blinds in the exact size I needed and it was 1” too short...but we managed to make it work by bending the brackets. When I ordered the second set, I took this information into account and ordered 1” longer than the size I needed...and it was 1” too big! The quality of the blinds are phenomenal but I think I’m just going to try a different brand because the sizes are just too wonky and returning it is a hassle. They definitely do block out all the sunlight well though.

I originally bought just one of these for our baby's nursery, but immediately after installing I had to get more for our own bedroom! It was a quick install from inside the house, and made a huge difference in brightness and temperature. Some light does come in through the sides, but definitely not enough to make a noticeable difference. If you want pure darkness, you'd have to get some sort of film or tape the sides of these curtains to the window.

I appreciate that this vendor has so many sizes available. I found the perfect width and length to cover my front door oval-light for privacy or block the sun, when needed. (See photos) It was easy to install and the price is great.

Funciona muy bien y es fácil de instalar. Solamente consideren pedir unas pulgadas extras a la medida que pidan porque viene más angostas que lo que dice la medida. La que yo pedí quedó justa y eso que había pedido una pulgada extra.

No deja pasar luz y la calidad de los materiales es buena, la instalación es muy sencilla me sorprendió.
