Works surprisingly well with Quiet Tone practice pad.
I have a recording studio in my detached garage. I don’t need to be silent (if I did, I’d buy an e-kit) but my girlfriend noted she could hear my kick and snare carrying from the garage into the house. This was with rockwool and other acoustic treatment in the studio and a couple yards between the garage and the house. I don’t like the feeling of mesh heads so decided to try a Quiet Tone practice pad with a drum trigger. I bought this trigger and a DDRUM interface off of eBay and routed it to MT Powerkit (a free VST) on my PC. I had to crank the threshold a bit because I’m using a practice pad but I got it working pretty well. Will definitely use this for practice sessions going forward. I also recommend the RTOM Black Holes with a trigger for your kick drum.

It works well at a very reasonable price!

Better than I expected
I started playing on a cheap e-drum, but always wanted an acoustic set, even though i would be playing it all muted down. I purchased Remo silent stroke heads and some Zildjian L80 low volume cymbals. They worked great, but i still wanted to be able to play with my headphones on sometimes. So using my cheap e-drum brain with other triggers on the toms and snare etc that was working fine, but those triggers didn't work on the cymbals. Then i came across these. Figured i'd give them a try. So I mounted these under the cymbal and then dropped a mute pad on the top. Worked like a charm for my specific needs.

Disappointed
I really hoped these would work for some inexpensive triggers, but no such luck. I tried them on a couple of my toms but I kept hearing a nasty rattle. Undoubtedly the piezo vibrating against the housing. That's my guess anyway. I just couldn't get rid of it so these wouldn't work for me. Hopefully, you'll have better luck with them!

Great for starting out
It works great, but doesn’t stick onto a low volume mesh head very long.

Review
This is a great trigger for my drummers kick drum. Pretty darned durable but a bit pricey for what it is however worth the money because I know it’ll work consistently.

Plug and play
Worked perfectly out of the box with my Simmons e-drum kit. I attached this to the underside of a drumeo quiet-kick practice pad, adjusted some threshold and sensitivity settings on my drum module, and it worked great. Very sensitive.

Works great for rim sensing
Unit adheres to shell well. Works perfectly to sense cross-stick, as my main trigger for the snare is a ddrum Red Shot
