Perfect fit! Easy to replace and my engine started right up, no problem!

Starter has a lip built into the top and would not fit on my Kohler courage 20 hp sv600. Fortunately the lip is plastic or Bakelite and broke off easily. Starter is a tight fit on this engine, but the mounting nuts and some lube pulled it into place.Fired the engine instantly!!

I fit this new starter motor in November and it fit fine. I probably used the mower 3 or 4 times before putting away for winter. I take it out in March and try to start the mower and I get a funny sound. Checked battery and it has full charge so that wasn’t the problem. Then took top cover of engine off to expose top of the mower. Found the starter gear cog was stuck in flywheel. I removed starter and could see the starter gear cog would not retract. I then lubricated it and eventually got it to retract. Connected to battery outside of mower and cog seemed to correctly shoot out when engaged and then retract once starter disengaged. Refit to mower. Doesn’t work in the upright position. Absolute junk. Poor 30 day return policy. Why is it ok for manufacturers to produce such shoddy Chinese products that run such a short time. This is a joke. Please don’t waste your money
