Fantastic
We use 1 per night. Saccharomyces boulardii is a beneficial yeast that helps with gut health and gastrointestinal issues. This is a non colony forming yeast that is more like an army in your gut. It searches out bad bacteria and kills them. It is antibiotic resistant. It maintains the gut barrier. A definite must if you have H. Pylori. Fantastic product and a must if you are healing your gut.

When S. boulardii is the right one, it's the only one you need.
Of all things I've done to help myself, this one stands out. Mostly, because I read a research article on S. boulardii and decided any probiotic with documented proof that it helps gut inflammation had to be a good thing and decided that I had to add it, all on my own : )Then I went to see my new doctor (functional medicine) who ruthlessly pruned my list of supplements (including my beloved Hardy's Probiotics and Greens) but kept these.I was stunned. More wasn't merrier? Diversity not an issue? This flew in the face of all my careful reading on the microbiome. The rational? When you dump who knows how many colony forming units into your gut, the new probiotics need to fight it out with the established ones for limited resources (fiber). If you have gut inflammation, then S. boulardii is your answer and it's best to maximize its chances. As for fiber? If you take probiotics, then you must take fiber. Quality is the key. Poorly processed fiber (metamucil) - sure they feed your probiotics but they also feed other much less desirable denizens of the gut. Apparently the best possible fiber is PGX (specially processed form of glucomannan). I was using a mixture of Metamucil mostly to get rid of it and glucomanninAnd?Three weeks after she eliminated the junk fiber and the junk probiotics (whimper), my elimination is normal. My gut pain is gone. My GERD, gas, cramping, bloating, diarrhea is gone. This after trying with Hardy's (and Jarrow and Culturelle...) for close to a year, it turns out I was drowning out both pieces of the correct answer by introducing too much competition and then feeding everyone crappy fiber. Is this the whole story? Alas no, healing a very broken GI track is a big story.Symptoms: gas, bloating, GERD, stomach aches/heartburn, gut cramps, diarrhea.Support for broken digestion (you'll want to check with your doctor - it's great if you're under producing stomach fluids but you'll burn a hole in your stomach if you're fine)HCl and digestive enzymesHealing the gutProbiotics (S. boulardii for inflammation - other probiotics for different issues)Fiber (highest quality - PGX)Glutamate - feed your gut directly - promotes gut healingresistant starch - Bob's red mill unmodified potato starch - feeds your probiotics, anti inflammatory, does not raise glucose levels and survived the Great Pruning of the Supplements unscathed.Collagen; Your gut needs collagen to heal . You can get collagen either from bone broth or from collagen supplements.Initiate protein synthesis: in order to heal, the body must produce new proteins. However, this only happens if you eat 30 gm of protein in one sitting. That would be 5 large eggs or 1.5 cups of greek yogurt. Nutritionists recommend doing this 3x per day if you are trying to heal from a major condition. I found it difficult to eat so much food so it's closer to 1x per day. Once I began doing this, my hair doubled it's growth rate. My other conditions have been improving as well, although not as spectacularly as hair growth.Update: It's been over four months on this "heal the gut" regime. Most of my symptoms of digestive difficulties are gone. I can eat normally without digestive enzymes and HCl. However, my lab tests came back and I'm borderline (no candida! none!) Too many bad bugs lurking. I notice it mostly when I take the Bob's Red Mill potato starch - I have a strong gas reaction in the gut and the next day, elimination suddenly improves. It looks like the gut is mostly healed and I have to feed my helpful probiotics until they go forth and beat up the invaders.

Rapid recovery of intestinal health despite battling probable C Diff
I was introduced to the Jarrow Formulas Saccharomyces Boulardi by our local nutrition store when my loved one was dealing with probable c. diff after TEN rounds of antibiotics and TWO hospitalizations with surgery where the last RN wasn't following basic hygiene practices (MO Baptist should change protocols so RNs and staff do NOT place dirty used urinals on the tray table let alone ON the FOOD TRAY where the patient's dinner is waiting to be eaten!) so we left and went home. Weeks later and none of the doctors were concerned about his explosive diarrhea, his low grade fever, his labs showing hemoglobin was too low, bilirubin was climbing, lymphocytes were falling, etc. Others noted his color was growing more pale, I noticed a yellowish tinge. Calls to the ER, urgent care and our primary care revealed if they chose to test for C Diff after examining him, the results wouldn't be available for up to 4 days, longer since it was a full weekend, too. The primary office is busy, it was doubtful he'd be able to get in to a regular appointment until the following week, more than 10 days later. Plus 4 days for results.... that's possibly 2 weeks waiting before commencing treatments! Whatever the problem is, we KNOW it involves some sort of infection in his intestines and we KNOW they are inflamed. Does it matter WHAT it is causing it, or does it matter that supportive treatment commences so his body is reinforced to handle whatever is causing his issues?Needless to say, a trip to the local nutrition experts was in order. I love the staff at our local nutrition store, they are always well versed on whatever saga I need help with. Again they listened intently, asked several questions, made sure they knew any relevant underlying factors then printed off a summary sheet of ideas used against C Diff and colitis, then we went over it together so we could see what resonated, what we were already doing and what was contraindicated for his other issues. The very helpful staff at the nutrition store suggested Stamets 7 Daily Immune Support. Colostrum, Brewer's Yeast, Garden of Life Ultimate Care 34 strain probiotics, Quercetin as a natural antihistamine to calm the intestines, as well as this Jarrow Formulas Saccharomyces Boulardii + MOS as a probiotic fungus to further calm the inflamed and very bloated intestines. We also added in iodine drops in his water, Seeking Health liquid vitamin drops (A, D, B12 with Folate) as well as 10 Flavor Tea Pills from Traditional Chinese Medicine to help rebuild the anemic blood situation. We could have waited FOUR DAYS for a lab result, IF they bothered to order the test. Either way, their treatment would have been even more antibiotics further destroying his gut microflora with a 20% recurrence rate for C Diff. And if it was negative for C. Diff, then what? Return for another test for some other infection, stabbing in the dark? Did I mention the urgent care wasn't staffed by an MD that day, the weekend MD was a guy we've dealt with before, who we feel was inept contributing to a long term situation that was entirely avoidable. Needless to say that Urgent Care was out of the question. So now what? We moved forward with supportive nutrition. We begun the above protocol on a Friday evening, by Sunday evening he was eating comfortably, bath-rooming just fine, etc. Just 48 hours later! When I questioned his rapidly increasing activity level he firmly stated "hey, I feel like I've finally rounded a corner and doing better!" Instead of being curled up miserable in bed, he's with the family, enjoying life, and wanting to be active again. Did I mention he has stage 4 heart failure and stage 3 chronic kidney disease along with a tedious gall bladder? So I don't know exactly what role the SB + MOS performed but he appears to be fully fighting off whatever was bothering his intestines. After the first 24 hours passed he issued a decree that "a war is waging in my intestines. It feels like something's fighting the (probable) C Diff and the C Diff is fighting back but I can tell it's losing the battle." Well now that another 24 hours has passed, his color, his activity levels, his desire for food, his ease with which he's eating and NOT being miserable afterwards and most importantly, his lack of issues in the bathroom are all telling signs. Whatever he was battling, was NOT just a standard tummy bug, this situation has been gradually worsening the past THREE MONTHS! Yes, he's seen his doctors, even since the multiple labs were run, he's even been in the ER with abdominal complaints, but everyone blew it off saying his gall bladder must need to be surgically removed because a CT scan for the kidney stone 3 months ago revealed gall stones. Surgery would have required even MORE antibiotics. He says his intestines are (were) so bloated and inflamed that he feels had they cut into him even with ports laparoscopically that he feels it would have gone very wrong with his inflamed swollen intestines pushing out in all directions.I'm glad we were informed to try Jarrow Formulas Saccharomyces Boulardii + MOS ! He's hooked now that he's experienced the rapid reconstruction of his immune system. SB + MOS will be joining the list of things that we ALWAYS keep on hand among our natural alternative healing remedies.
