Icebreaker Merino Men's Departure Ii Button Down Shirt for Travel, New Zealand Merino Wool

This Icebreaker shirt may be the best long sleeve shirt I have ever owned. The material is very soft, very comfortable to wear with or without an undershirt, the moisture wicking and quick drying properties are amazing, and the shirt literally never smells. I wore it to family gathering where I played soccer with some kids for 40 minutes in hot weather and afterwards I was drenched in sweat. The shirt dried out in about 20 minutes after I went inside and 2 days later after not washing it, the shirt had no perceivable odor. Best of all, it has a great slim athletic fit that is so hard to find in long sleeve shirts. I'm 5'11, 150 lbs, 30" waist, long arms and bought a size SMALL and it fit great!! The cuffs actually came down to my hands which is very rare. I still ended up tailoring the shirt length and waist area as I don't like to tuck in shirts but don't want a lot of extra material. Regardless, it is an incredible investment. I wear it now 3 times a week to work, and bike to work often in North Carolina. I am not kidding when I say I'm considering throwing 90% of my other shirts away and buying one more of these in the dark blue color and just having these shirts as my full wardrobe. Icebreaker makes THE BEST STUFF.

I usually wear a large and there's plenty of room. This large was very tight, both across the body and the shoulders. (The shirt bound slightly when I crossed my arms closely.) Also, as others have said, the sleeves are ridiculously long. Returned it. Am reluctant to go to an XL because the too-long sleeves will be even longer, and the shirt will hang too low when untucked. Nice fabric, though. If I was taller and skinnier, I'd be happy with it.

Having purchased an icebreaker shirt previously I was certain this Large would fit with a little room to spare. It was too tight. Gaps between every button.It was also not the same color depicted. I actually liked it better and would have kept it if it had fit.I sent it back and had to pay the return postage. Won't buy from this seller again.

Fits great, looks great, doesn't wrinkle... very bad quality.I've worn this shirt four times and the seam on the sleeve leading to the cuff is falling apart :(Edit: I contacted the manufacturer directly and they sent me a free replacement... in a different color and, though labeled the same size, much larger. Sold the replacement on eBay.The other reviewers' comments that this shirt is small in the torso and has very long sleeves are accurate.

The updates to this shirt are great improvements. This is my third long-sleeve and the Departure style makes for a great office casual shirt that is also suited for camping and hiking. In the summer I'll keep one handy for early mornings on the lake. In terms of the cost, I'll say my five year old Lodge shirt still looks brand new. The comfort and temperature regulation wool offers is much superior to any cotton shirt.

This is one of my new favorite shirts. The sleeves are long, as the other reviewers have noted. I am 6'1+ and can never find a sport sized shirt with sleeves long enough. The color has stayed true for many washing's. Countless compliments from this one. I hope Icebreaker continues to make shirts with this fit and fabric. Also, I have not experienced the other reviewers quality issues. The fabric and stitching is still going strong, after four months of weekly use.

I love this brand and model of shirt, this was to be my third. Unlike the other 2 I've purchased on Amazon, this one came with out the Icebreaker packaging. It was missing a button, had several STAINS on it, and was DAMAGED as if a hot iron had rested on it. To be clear, the Icebreaker Departure II shirt is an incredible shirt, but beware of who fulfills the order and carefully go over it when you receive it.

A little modern (rather than timeless) in design, but it's merino, and the pattern will make stains less of a problem. It just isn't a good fit as S/M/L only. I'd like traditional dress shirt sizing so I can get long enough sleeves.

Icebreaker hat stolze Preise. Aber dafür wird ein geniales Material (Merino, wärmt auch wenn feucht, riecht / kratzt nicht / kaum) in starkem Design und guter Verarbeitung geliefert. Das Hemd ist viel zu edel, um es beim Wandern, Trekking etc. zu tragen und zu stabil, funktional, um damit nicht auf Tour zu gehen. Bin begeistert.

Hemd fällt an den Armen und am Bauch grösser aus. Normalerweise trage ich bei Icebreaker Kleidung Grösse M, aber hier musste ich Grösse S nachbestellen. Ansonsten ist das Hemd in gewohnter Icebreaker Qualität.

Pssform perfekt. Design sehr gut, aber ein Punkt Abzug, da die Wolle etwas kratzig wirkt. Habe sie extra mit Wollwaschmitte Handgewaschen, aber immer noch fehlt mir der "Weichheitseffekt".

es ist immer wieder toll zu sehen wie vielfältig man Wolle verarbeiten kann - wenn man damit umzugehen weiss und die von icebreaker haben definitiv Ahnung davon.."just love these shirts"
