Bright, but there is a fix for that...
Got this for my daughter to help with a fear of the dark. Works great but was a little too bright-- seemed to be keeping her awake longer than normal. So I took it apart and painted the inside. Looks really cool and dimmed the brightness a bit! She loves her rainbow owl. 😊

Sleep deprived parents highly recommend
How it works:It is an LED light that is on a timer. Which means you can press it and it will glow dimly (not to brightly, it is very peaceful) for 20 minutes. Then it turns itself off conserving batteries. If your child is still awake and scared they can push the button again and it will glow for another 20 minutes. It has a handle, an older child can carry it with them if they are walking around at night, maybe on a trip to the bathroom.Safety:It uses an LED light so it very cool to the touch. My electrical engineer husband took a look at it and felt it was safe enough to keep in the bed with her.Cost: It was a cheap light and we have only had to replace the batteries once in the year that we have owned it.How it helped us: My acrobatic baby started to climb out of her crib from its lowest setting at 14 months. We were very nervous to turn her crib into a toddler bed. The first few nights in her bed she cried at the door, climbed her dresser, and bookshelf and knocked everything on the floor. We constantly had to go back in the room and put her back in the bed. When we added this nightlight she started staying in her bed. We also feel safe knowing that if she is up and moving around she is not doing it in a pitch black room.

Functional, practical, wholesome, and cute!
My 3 year old daughter loves this nightlight! We bought it for her to transition her out the need to leave the overhead light on to fall asleep. We were moving her 13 mo sister into her room and needed to make sure the room was dark enough for the baby to be able to sleep. Thankfully our goal proved successful and once she started using the nightlight she didn’t ask us to leave the big light on, especially since we had her “practice” turning the light on and off in the dark several times so that she felt confident she would be ok if she was still awake when the light automatically shut off. I am glad that the light shuts off because I know it is better to sleep in all darkness than with a night light. The light actually has a nice glow. It’s a good brightness and the radius doesn’t extend too far. It’s bright enough that when the house is dark we can see under our door that our daughter is approaching the room as she carries the nightlight. Yet it’s not so bright that it bothers her younger sister sleeping in the same room. We have the girls’ beds in an L shape with a tall dresser separating them, so the little one is not too affected by the glow. She too loves the night light and can press the button on and off, but her sister doesn’t like her to play with it! I guess when she’s old enough to “need” a night light then we’ll get her the same one.One thing I do wish is that the material of the night light were that clear gummy-type stuff and not a hard plastic, since the light does make a loud clattering sound on our hardwood floor when it falls out of my daughter’s bed. I’m always afraid the girls will wake when I hear it happen. Nevertheless, the plastic must be pretty durable since it has yet to break. Our daughter did throw it across the room once so that the battery cover got a little jammed and a screw came out. Now when the battery cover is bumped it might trigger the button to turn off the light, but the light turns right back on when you press the button. I don’t consider this little malfunction to be a fault of the night light, but of my daughter.I give this five stars because it is functional, practical, wholesome, and cute! + Functional: The light does what it’s supposed to do. + Practical: The light is a nice size and the handle is great for carrying around.+ Wholesome: The light encourages healthy sleep habits by turning off after 20 minutes.+ Cute: I love that the owl design is cute but not too “cutesy,” and that it is whitish-clear in color and will therefore blend in with any room design and appeal to either gender.

Good night light
I ordered this night light after having trouble with a different product (our previous night light was rechargeable, and just quit charging all the sudden one day, and thus no longer works). So far we have been very happy with this night light - it has been perfect for helping my 2-year old feel better about staying in bed when its bed time. She enjoys staying up looking at her books after I leave her room, but wall-mounted night lights don't provide enough light for her to see her books without making her room too bright to sleep. This night light is just the right size and brightness to keep in bed with her so she can see. And with the automatic shut-off after 20 minutes, its perfect for saving batteries incase she forgets to turn it off, or falls asleep (which I'm sure is what probably happens every night). It only has one color light - a white light - but its the perfect color to provide a nice dim light. Our previous night light had various colors, but not white, and it sometimes really didn't help light up anything due to the color of the light - it was more of a glow than a light. The batteries are safely secured inside, only accessible by a small screw driver. This was a potential concern for me, as my daughter is VERY inquisitive about how things are put together, and is able to open many various types of battery compartments. The night light has a small button on the bottom that you push to turn it on and off. Its a bit small for adult fingers, but is very easy for my daughter to operate. The only concern I have with this night light so far is the material that it is made of. It feels like a more brittle type of plastic, and I'm worried that it may easily crack or break if dropped on our hardwood floors. Hopefully it will prove to be hardier than I think, but only time will tell for that one.All in all, we've been very happy with this night light, and would definitely recommend this to others.**UPDATE** After having this nightlight for several months now, and it having been dropped several times on both hardwood and tile floors, it has survived wonderfully! I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised that it hasn't cracked. We have been very happy with this nightlight.

Great with newborn
I used this in the hospital and the first couple of weeks when I had my little one. It was perfect because it's not too bright but still lets you see enough.

Love this little owl
We have a toddler who’s afraid of the dark and this little charm has helped so much by providing them the security of a flash light with the piece of mind they are not going to...

TOO BRIGHT, lightweight, blue-ish light
Much too bright! It blinded us when we turned it on in the dark at night. And it emits a blue/white light. I was hoping it was more yellow/amber (better for nighttime).
