If you asked me as a teenager who my favorite author was, I wouldn't have hesitated. "Dee Henderson!"
She's a romantic Christian thriller writer whose characters lead high-profile, high-stress lives. Hostage negotiator. Navy SEAL. U.S. Marshall. Firefighter. After 5 years, this latest book focuses in on the FBI. BUT IT'S NOT LIKE THE OTHERS. There are some thrilling moments and even some romantic ones, but this book is not fast-paced. It's everyday life. It's hard work and patience. It's multipurpose. You'll meet some of your favorite characters again... YES!!! And you'll probably need to stop and recoup at least once before continuing, like the heroine does. And if you haven't done so already, you'll likely need to change your expectations.Full disclosure is a sweet reminder of the purpose of marriage: to enhance life, rather than carry it. I've struggled with that, thinking that real life couldn't begin until God gave me a husband. This book is easier to read on the other side of that struggle, for it wouldn't have satisfied my old self. Full Disclosure isn't a typical Christian romance, and I'm glad for the insights it provides. But hallelujah, things do pick up toward the end! This was a pleasant, nostalgic read, with definite suspense in the last sections.Btw, has anyone else wondered if this is a variation of Dee's own story?

A more measured pace, but worth the waiting
I have read nearly all of Dee Henserson's books, most more than once. She is one of my favorites: the quality of writing, character and plot development are stand-outs in contemporary Christian fiction. This novel is different from her others in that the main characters are older and more considered in their approach to dating and marriage. Actually, it's rather refreshing, although the book moves more slowly and her others. There are references to and appearances of characters we know and love from other of her novels--I happen to really like that technique. Ann may seem too complex and accomplished to be real, but I find her interesting and far from a stereotypical heroine. One reviewer called her selfish, but I don't see her that way at all; I see her as mature enough to know herself and be very cautious risking her own or another's heart. Paul knows this going in. At any rate, If you are a fan of the author's other novels and characters, I think you will enjoy this one. And, yes, I suspect there is a lot of Dee in Ann Silver.

Not the best
I’ve read several of Dee Henderson’s books and have liked them. Thankfully this book I got on my kindle for only $1.99. I only kept reading because I was interested in the crime cases which were good. That’s the only reason it got 2 stars. I liked Ann’s simple relationship with God. It was so effortless. I also liked many of the characters. The character of Ann was the most frustrating and annoying character of any book I’ve ever read. Paul was constantly giving in to her. You can tell this was fiction because I don’t know many men who would put up with what he did. He lost out on having children cause she said no. She had all these stipulations before they got married like a week alone every month?? She was so private and all these friends constantly protected her like she was fragile glass going to break. No one called her out that marriage is give and take. It was like such a sacrifice for her to marry Paul. I really wouldn’t have minded if they didn’t get together in the end. Paul could’ve been happy with more of what he wanted in life.

Deep and interesting read
I realized after I started reading this book that I had already read it but decided to read it again because I couldn't remember everything that happened and Dee Henderson is such a great writer. I was glad that I did because a lot of what happened at the end I didn't remember. It is a different book from the other books of hers that I had read and was interesting on different levels. One of the main characters, Ann Silver, was a writer as well as a cop, the Midwest Homicide Investigator and pilot. She had written the stories of friends of hers that happen to be the characters from Ms. Henderson's O'Malley series. Her character is very complex in that she is good at every job that she does and has many friends but is also an introvert that only lets men friends get so close before she breaks it off but remains close friends. She enjoys being single and has no desire to get married. As a sheriff in a rural area near Chicago, Ann works a wreck where the driver is killed and evidence is found that she feels is related to an FBI cold case named the lady shooter serial killer case. She turns the case over to FBI agent Paul Falcon in the Chicago office. This starts a whirlwind of activity at the agency. As Paul gets to know Ann, he finds that they have many friends in common. Paul becomes interested in dating Ann but it takes a long time for Ann to return the interest. Along the way, Ann's case becomes a long investigation into many murders committed by the lady shooter. There are lots of twists and turns that pop up that involve other people close to Ann. This is a long book that has very detailed and outlined information into how the investigation goes over a period of months. Along the way we see the friendship develop between Ann and Paul and revisit some old friends from other books by Ms. Henderson. There were some areas that were slow going for me but it is a very interesting book and worth it as things take some surprising turns at the end. This is a very deep, faith filled book with well developed characters.

"... you're the eighth O'Malley."
Henderson has her usual, well drawn characters in something of a roller coaster of a ride. Paul is hunting an assassin that hasn't been active for near a decade; Ann is (among all the other things she does) winding up a sheriff's department when a car crash with a fatality reveals the next piece of the puzzle. And Ann is good at puzzles; Paul is no slouch either though the one he would like to solve most is Ann. This puzzle will keep on growing, the edges moving outwards to touch their own lives in a way neither expected.(If you haven't read the O'Malley set it's worth a read)

Good but a few chapters too long
I loved all the O’Malley books when I read them some years ago and was excited by the idea of revisiting them. This was a good book but I have to say I found it a little long and unusually for me I was waiting for it to get to the conclusion so I knew what was going on. I still enjoyed it but would have been better a few chapters shorter I think.

not that impressed this time
Having read and really enjoyed the O'Malley series I was looking forward to this new book by Dee Henderson and had ordered it about 3 months in advance. However I was really disappointed. The central characters to my mind, never got anywhere, it was as if they had a relationship going on in their heads but nowhere else, the plot jumped about so much that I ended up not really caring who did what! Perhaps it was my expectations that were at fault but to discover the main character had actually written the O'Malley series in her 'spare time'!!When did she sleep? Not for me, too unbelievable even for fiction.Of course the O'Malley gang rarely slept either when I come to think of it!

Another twist to Dee's brilliant stories
This book is brilliant. If you have read previous books by Dee Henderson, you will find a pleasant surprise before you have got halfway through the story.

One of my favourites!
This keeps you hooked from the beginning, and guessing right up til the end! Very well written, from an author who never disappoints.
