Hank Green's 2D-Glasses: Turns 3D movies back to 2D

My wife gets headaches from what we assume is a result of her inner ear issues and my daughter just flat out doesn't like 3D. Myself, I like 3D. So for situations where a theater like the El Capitan only has one screen, one viewing and it's in 3D....my gals can use these and be just fine while the rest of us enjoy the 3D.However, do yourself a favor and READ the product description. The only negative reviews on this product are from people who DID NOT READ and tried to use these glasses at something other than a RealD screening like IMAX.

Real 3D movies: WORKS GREATIMAX 3D movies: Not CompatibleI purchased a set these glasses after watching a film critic who couldn't stand 3D but wanted to watch IMAX movies. I tried wearing the glasses at a couple of normal 3d movies and was very impressed with the results. These are also compatible with any 3D television that uses non battery operated glasses.So follow up, these glasses DO NOT work on IMAX 3D movies. While disappointing, these glasses still work wonderfully with Real 3D.One more note, I saw a reviewer bought a pair of these to use at amusement park attractions, those typically use IMAX 3D technology.

We had a big laugh over this product, but it really practical! I have a friend who can't watch 3D movies because of headaches. Allegedly, a significant percentage of the population has a similar malady. So, what to do when the gang wants to see a 3d movie and one person can't? Well, this solved the problem! Now every one can enjoy the movie together.This product only works for Real-D format, not IMAX. But it is a step. I think theaters should have to provide similar products as a reasonable accommodation under the ADA. We still get a laugh over a product that makes a movie 2D, but really, it' no joke, and can help a lot of people at a very small price. Great product!

I bought these knowing that my brother wanted to see The Hobbit in 3D, and 3D movies make me sick. However, I was warned that they might not work due to the high frame rate. But I went to see the movie last night and used these glasses, and they worked REALLY well. I would switch glasses every so often to see the difference and the only difference I could see was the 3D. I didn't notice any changes to the HFR. We don't see 3D movies often, but I'll definitely keep these around for the rare times we do.

I got this for my friend who always felt left out when we went to 3d movies. She was so happy and viewed this not only as a gift, but an invitation to be a part of a group when she felt left out before. Important to note that this does not work on some 3d tvs called active. I ahd nto realized this before.

I bought these for my mom over a year ago because 3D movies give her a headache. They work great. They've held up and are a great thing to have now that every movie seems to be coming out in 3D. My mom wears glasses and this product fit pretty well over top of her glasses. They weren't a problem at all with her glasses. I highly recommend these glasses to all my friends and family who don't like or can't watch movies in 3D!

I used these at a 3D showing of Frozen and for the first 20 minutes I was occasionally switching the glasses. Frozen had really obvious 3D with the theater glasses on, but with these, it brought it back to a 2D movie. For the first time I was able to watch a 3D movie without getting a headache and eye strain. They're still annoying if you're like me and wear glasses, so you're forced to have two pairs on your face, but if I have to see a film in 3D, I'd rather put up with annoying than annoying and a headache.

I personally don't have a problem with 3D, but I bought them as a Christmas present for a friend, because she would not have been able to watch The Hobbit without them. A little ways through the movie I asked her if they were working, and with the hugest smile on her face she said 'yes.' Now I know what to get people if they also have this problem with 3D.

Wer auch mit 3D Filmen im Kino nicht klarkommt, muss mit dieser Brille auf ein Filmvergnügen von Kinofilmen, die es nur in 3D gibt, nicht mehr verzichten.Fazit: Erfüllt seinen Zweck vorzüglich.

quite cheap quality if im honest.I bought these to take to disneyland paris and use on the 3D rides so i didnt get motion sick. They did not work very well at all, on the first ride i tried them , everything looked very blurred and out of focus. i came off the ride and was sick within minutes. I would not recommend these if you are using them to avoid motion sickness.

I bought these some time ago and finally tested them today on a 3D movie. I have been avoiding 3D movies because after about 15 minutes I get a headache and I have to pause watching the movie altogether for a few minutes. Well with these glasses it's no headache despite watching the entire movie. Enough said, I am pleased. Better would be if the cinemas had more 2D shows of movies, but this is now option 2.

Ich mag ja eigentlich 3D-Kino. Leider gibt es immer noch Regiseure, die nicht kapiert haben, dass man nicht jede Szene, die man in 2D zeigen kann, auch in 3D genauso machen kann. Bei plötzlichen Schwenks und extremen Kranfahrten wird mir regelmäßig mulmig bis Kotzübel. Von Pop-Outs und Stürzen in Häuserschluchten ganz zu schweigen.Hier kommt die 2D-Brille zum Einsatz. Schwuppsdich habe ich mein gutes, altes 2D-Kino wieder und der blöde Regisseur kann machen was er will, mich braucht es nicht mehr zu kümmern. Die manchmal flimmerige Qualität von 3D-Filmen bessert die Brille allerdings nicht.
