Building a subwoofer is a learning experience that has big rewards. The problem with subs is that it generates a LOT of vibrations. To hold the driver in place, you really need to bolt the driver in tightly. The issue is that MDF strips easily when tightened.By using the T-Nuts, you can bolt the driver in tightly and securely.You must be aware of a couple of things. The hole for the bolts must be straight and set at exactly 90 degrees. If you are crooked you stand a good chance of cross threading the T-nut. If this happens, it will be impossible to remove the driver without destroying the cabinet. Also, when inserting the t-nuts, it might be a good idea to dab a bit of glue to secure it in place. Make sure you do not get glue inside the nut threads.This is a good value. You probably have to pay about $0.75/bolt at a hardware store. The t-nuts will set you back about $0.50 each as well. NOTE: This size of bolt will work for midrange drivers, if you want bolts for subs, look into getting the #10-32 size.
