great water bottle
Great deal, excellent product. Mine got knocked over by my dog, rolled off of a side table onto the concrete patio and survived the fall, just a small scratch on the lid. My spouse accidentily dropped theirs on the tile entryway one evening, no cracks to the bottle or our tile. The lids were secure on the bottles on both occasions. They say they are dishwasher safe, but I have not tried that yet as I prefer to hand wash and air dry my water bottles.

Two Stars
Very thick and heavy which is good for durability but very heavy to carry.

They are not the best. Kind of clunky and I don't enjoy the mouth piece. Other than that heavy.

Really nice bottles. Just not sure if I should occasionally remove the sleeve for washing. Can't imagine the area under the sleeve gets clean when washing. I tried removing it and couldn't get it off. It's on there pretty good.

Nailed it.
22 oz is just enough to be worth carrying around, though I usually carry both bottles with me to get me through more than an hour of activity. They have survived their first falls on pavement and clanging with each other. The glass seems substantial and thick. They are obviously heavier than a plastic water bottle, but I'm not bothered by the weight. The drinking experience itself is pretty great. The mouth is narrow enough that you never spill it on yourself, like you do with a wide brim nalgene bottle--which is great, because while spilling it on yourself sucks, so do flip tops that don't allow you to drink as fast as you'd like. The lid is probably--and I know this sounds ridiculous, but I really am not one for hyperbole--the best 'lid' I've ever experienced. The square shape makes the sides act as levers, allowing you to tighten very tight with very little force, and likewise open with very little force. It is well engineered, so you can twist it forcefully and then let go and it will spin itself loose, making for a very smooth action. The lid is tall and hollowed out, allowing you to fill the entire area of the bottle up inside the lid. There is a small silicon gasket/washer recessed on the top/inside that acts as a perfect watertight seal. It's such a funny small detail, but well engineered components are those kinds of small pleasures in life--like a metal toolbox with perfectly designed hinges, that brings you a little feeling of joy every time you open it.I would have loved to just buy a half gallon bottle, personally. But these have been as happy a compromise as I could experience. A side benefit of having two bottles of smaller size instead of one of larger size that I didn't expect was that I can keep one in the bottle holder on my bike now, with a second on my backpack to swap in. Nice. Haven't used one of those since I was a kid, it's pretty handy. If I could think of one area for improvements, it would perhaps be having the silicon sleeve be thicker. I haven't had any problems with it, but it would only be more insurance. But given that this is the cheapest silicon/glass water bottle on the market, I'm not complaining. (This 2 pack is literally the price of one equivalent bottle at whole foods.)Well done, Takeya. You've made an impression.

The perfect bottle for having water taste pure and clean
The perfect bottle for having water taste pure and clean. I've owned canteen water bottles for the last couple of years and what I disliked the most was that awful metal smell when water was left sitting there for a few hours. With these Takeya bottles, I can leave the water sitting there throughout the day and it tastes fresh. The silicone sleeves are also fantastic for more than just grip. It keeps the water cool and none of the condensation goes through it. I was a little worried about the caps being 'twist off' because it's always much easier to have a pop up cap, but this cap twists off with such ease. You can give it one whirl and it'll spin until it's almost tight. Also, buy a pack of two and you save money; nothing better than saving a few bucks.

This is our second set of these glad bottles. One of them was dropped and it cracked so we had to replace it. It's not plastic that you are drinking out of which is the reason we bought these. Glass is one of the most inert materials and will not leach any chemicals. The bottle is a little heavy but not so much so that it becomes bothersome.

Awesome bottles...
Always wanted a glass water bottle and this ones are just awesome. I like that they have the silicone sleeve which is great for protection, but it can be challenging to clean until you get the hang of it, the handle even being small helps a lot holding the bottle, because its glass leakage is unlikely if the lid is tight, but this bottles had zero leakage so far. I bought these after a long search on amazon among hundreds of bottles and I believe I made the right choice.
