Worked for a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500
Worked for a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500. Easy to install and fit great but watch a YouTube video for removal/install instructions. The paper instructions sheet is not that great. Fixed a drivability issue of no start, rough idle and random engine shut off. Another great Dorman product and good value for the money.

Fixed intermittent starter condition and 4WD / Anti-Lock Brake error lights / check engine light
I have a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban and I was getting intermittent dashboard error indications for the four-wheel drive and anti-lock brakes. Then the truck would sometimes not step through the gears when going forward (it would stay in 3rd gear). I changed the engine oil, transmission oil, front differential, transfer case and rear differential oil but the problem remained. Then recently there were a couple of occasions when the starter would not engage when the ignition key was turned to the start position. I looked through the reviews for this ignition switch and saw there were a couple of other people who were experiencing the same types of problems with respect to the four-wheel drive and anti-lock brake error lights so I decided to purchase a new ignition switch. I installed the switch (making sure the gear alignment matched the original switch) and the four-wheel drive and antilock brake error lights are now off and the car is stepping smoothly through the forward gears as I accelerate. About a day later the check engine light went out and the car is now running perfectly.

Great Choice for a GM Ignition Switch!
Shortly after this new ignition switch arrived, I had it installed. The engine started perfectly and ran great! Due to the design of this switch, it is vital to get the new switch synchronized with the ignition key position for everything to work correctly. Dorman even includes instructions with photos to aid in the installation process! I'm very pleased with the new switch and recommend it to anyone needing a replacement ignition switch for their 2006 - 2007 GM Truck, Van, or SUV.

Works great! Instructions wrong.
This fit exactly like the OEM piece and works perfectly with no issues. My gripe is that the instructions are incorrect on synchronizing the key/lock to the switch. If you follow the written guidance the key cylinder will not fit. Which is correct, the key is not supposed to fit in that position. If you then align the lock gears to fit the key, now the truck won’t start because the gears are now out of position. Luckily there are good videos that show the correct gear position for the switch to enable the alignment to the key. I would buy again, but the first thing I would do is throw the instructions in the trash.

Resolved 2 different starting issues with this switch.
Good product. Interesting that before my original 200,000 mile switch failed with the key not springing back after starting,I had to manually turn key out of the cranking position after the engine starts. But I also had a different problem for months before the spring back issue, the engine would not crank at all. Wasn't starter or battery or relay or anything else because if I kept trying to start engine while turning the key on and off eventually it would start normally. Coincidentally replacing this ignition switch also resolved that problem, in case you have that similar situation.

Works, but not like oem
Works, but the "stages" are not as pronounced as oem. Hard to install correctly if you dont know what you're doing.

Easy to install. READ ISSUES IF YOU OWN A GMC ENVOY
2006 GMC Envoy ignition switch issues. Before replacing the ABS, BRAKE LIGHT, STABILITRAC and service STABILITRAC dash lights stayed lit. Also, AC blower would not come in at all. All if this because the ignition switch had left the chat. It'd still start, run and drive but these above issues were just the beginning I'm betting. Anyhow........Dorman is a great product I trust, it was priced very good and an exact fit. Make sure you get the little gear at the top of the switch lined up or it'll be a little frustrating. Otherwise, it's a easy job. This part includes instructions which is a nice touch.
