Q: I noticed rust on the many of the rocks - should I scrub this off or is it ok to add to my water and drink?

Shungite is not actually isolated from other minerals in its natural form, so you can find some other pieces of minerals within some Shungite stones. It's very common that the Shungite has some inclusions such as pyrite or quartz. In most shungite stones, you can find those inclusions. We recommend washing your Shungite stones very carefully under warm running water. After washing, just place your Shungite stones in a cloth and expose them to sunlight for 2 hours or moonlight for 5 hours to recharge it. Doing it once a month will be perfect. Q: What happens if i use plastic water(brita)?

That's fine. You can use plastic water bottle. The shungite clarifies and cleanses the water in whatever container it is in. Glass is always better because none of the plastic components leaches into your water overtime.
