Crisp and even light distribution, but not as bright as claimed
Our garage has a few fluorescent strip lights that we intend replacing with LED. These garage lights appear like a good alternative, requiring just standard E27 lamp sockets and have the ability to adjust the beam angle. Each LED lamp appears to be made of plastic, including the deformable panels. The panels fold individually, so it’s possible to position them at various angles anywhere between vertical and horizontal with them lit. Each individual lamp weighs about 330g.Upon replacing one lamp in the garage, this LED lamp instantly lit up to full brightness, giving off a good crisp white light. With the panels positioned down horizontally, they provide good even light below. By turning up the panels about 30 degrees, it lights up that section of the garage evenly up to the ceiling. One photo shows the panels facing directly down and the second shows with them partially tilted to light up to the ceiling. The outer edges of each LED panel remains cool to the touch even after an hour of operation. The hottest parts are the heat sinks above each light panel. Even with the panels tilted up, the base of the lamp remains cool, so there’s no issue with overheating the light fitting. While the lights appear very bright to look at directly, I got suspicious about their power rating when comparing the light output of one against the 65W fluorescent strip light in the middle section of our garage. Once the fluorescent light warmed up after a few minutes, it lit middle section just as bright, if not brighter than the end section with the supposedly 80W garage LED. This is despite modern LEDs producing about double the light output of fluorescent lamps of the equivalent wattage. To test the garage LED power rating, I placed the LED lamp into a table lamp connected to a power meter and it read just 32W as shown. I checked the second LED lamp and it measured 31W. This is just 40% of its claimed 80W rating, so even the two together don't add up to 80W either, hence my rating. The colour rendering appears fine for garage/shed use where colour accuracy is not important. There is also no sign of any stroboscopic flicker, which is important when working with machinery. One other thing to beware of is that when the LED panels are facing directly down, these produce harsh shadows. Tilting the panels up 30-45 degrees bounces more light off the walls to reduce the shadows. Fluorescent strip lights on the other hand only produce faint shadows.

2 star review as only one worked out of the box.
These lights came as a pair and only one actually worked the other just continued to flash. I did try and swap the fittings around but the fault continued. Not sure how long the working one would last as I lost faith straight away and removed that before it had a chance to break .
