Great little clock.
Small, compact, great for travel. Backlight is bright blue so not harsh at night but visible in daytime.

Just what I needed
This small clock fits perfectly into the small shelf in my bathroom. I needed a way to keep me on time when getting ready to leave for the day, after my last tiny clock stopped working. I searched long & hard before giving this one a try & it’s perfect.Easy to set up, keeps accurate time & is easy to read. If that wasn’t enough it includes the day & date. I recommend this product.

Gets the job done
This is a compact travel alarm that works well for me. It is compact and has large, easy-to-read digits. The alarm is not too loud, but loud enough for me. This is a plus because it doesn't wake up my spouse. However, the alarm icon is very small and for me it is hard to tell when the alarm is set. Also, the backlight does not come on when the alarm sounds, so it can be hard to find and shut off in the dark. All in all, it serves the purpose for which I purchased it.

Don't Waste Your Money Like I Did
Well, as long as you DON'T have to carry this clock around anywhere, it probably works OK. The fact that it uses a watch type disc battery and has a screw on battery compartment lid, means, if you carry it in your pocket, or any tight place, the battery, apparently, shifts in the space inside the battery compartment and becomes partially disengaged from the electrical contacts. When this happens, the clock freaks out and all of the numbers on its display change from intelligible digits to unintelligible gibberish. I have been able to reset the clock by opening up the battery compartment (you need a precision screwdriver to do this), repositioning the battery and closing the battery compartment lid. If this was an occasional problem (i.e. "once a year" or so) it would be annoying, but workable, but I have had this clock less than three weeks and have had to reset it, like this, four times. To have to be constantly monkeying with the battery compartment lid, like this, in order to make this clock function in the manner that it is SUPPOSED to function is completely unacceptable. The bottom line is, if you need a reliable timekeeping device with a display that always shows the time (unlike a smart phone), this clock is not it. I am one of those people who doesn't like to wear a watch, but needs to keep precise track of time, as it moves. As such, I have found, that a folding clock, which I can carry from place to place in a suit coat or jacket pocket, is the best time keeping device for me. Unfortunately, unlike the Timex folding digital clock I had for ten years or so, this clock, is not it. I have ordered an Elgin Travel Alarm Clock and, hopefully, it works better. Unfortunately, this clock is a waste of money and a piece of excrement.

Not a Good Travel Alarm Clock
This is the review of the Westclox 72028 Fold-Up Travel Alarm Clock. The clock has some good things going for it. It is very compact but has a large screen. It has an option for military time. You can go forward and backwards while setting the time or the alarm. It has a bright blue light that is activated by pressing the snooze/light button on the top of the clock, and it has a calendar plus a date on the screen. It runs on a coin size battery (CR2032 in this case), which I prefer, as these coin batteries are very long lasting and allow for a very compact clock. The few days I that used this clock, it kept accurate time. The alarm on the clock is weak but is loud enough to wake me up on the first beep.Unfortunately, there are some issues with this clock and they were significant enough that I had to return it.The light/snooze button is placed on top of the clock, so even when you close the lid, the light button is still exposed and can get pressed. So, if you bought this clock for traveling, you cannot put this clock in your bag, as it will constantly trigger the light switch and drain the battery. In fact, when you close the lid, it is very difficult to open the lid again without triggering the light switch. The only way to travel with it is to take the battery out, but then in this situation, a coin battery becomes a disadvantage, as they are not meant to be removed regularly.Another issue with this clock is that the symbol to indicate whether an alarm is set or not is tiny, and very difficult to see. You literally have to stare at the screen to figure out whether the alarm is set or not. I don’t understand the logic of this design choice from Westclox. This is an alarm clock first, it needed to have its main function prioritized over the needless date and calendar that take up a large part of the screen real estate and serve no purpose. People who will buy this alarm clock will buy it for the alarm functionality, not to tell them the day and the date. Extra functions are nice as long as they don’t degrade the main function.Though the LCD used on this clock is large, it has a very limited viewing angle. The screen is out of focus if you look at it straight on or from below. The only way to see it clearly is to look downwards at it. I think they used a very cheap LCD, and thought that if the clock is on the table, most people will look at it downwards, so they made that angle clear. My side table is slightly higher than my bed, so the clock is out of focus and unreadable when looking upwards from my pillow.Due to these above-mentioned issues, I returned the clock. This is designed to be a good compact bedside clock, but it is definitely not a travel alarm clock.

Compact and reliable
This little clock is in my bathroom, keeping me on time for work and appointments. I love that it also shows the day of the week, and the date. Takes little space and is easy to pack for travel, too.

Perfect for travel or small area
Just what I needed. Not too big, easy to set and blue light is bright. The alarm isn't annoying either which is a plus. Would purchase again.

Old faithful, some improvements
I had one of these for many years. It was easy and intutive to set and never failed me. A few years ago, it disappeared, and I finally got a couple of these. They're actually a little better because the light is bright enough to read the time by. They don't look or feel quite as solid as the old one, but I've been using them for several months and they've been fine. There are cheaper and possibly similar ones out there that might be a better deal. I tried a few before coming back to the Westclox ones, because the others were pointlessly complicated and hard to read.

Complicated to set-up. Not for those without a PhD in computer science
Westclox have changed the design of this item. Unfortunately to the detriment of the purchaser.
