Misleading Add???
The diapers are great but I only received half of what I believed I was ordering.

The only disposable diapers worth buying!
After doing a lot of research into diapers (Being an engineer, I even did a life-cycle cost analysis on them, including cloth diapers.), I found that, barring cloth diapers, these are the most environmentally friendly diapers out there -- and possibly the most baby-friendly. They are very absorbent and quite an excellent choice overall. One of the most environmentally unfriendly things one can do is to have a baby. But besides that non-starter for us, and faced with the hassle of cloth diapers, these were a perfect compromise. Personally, I could not live with myself for contributing so much environmentally-detrimental diapers to a landfill -- diapers that stay intact for 500 years or more! These diapers are compostable and have natural components (or as natural as one can make them while still retaining essential usefulness properties). They cost a little more -- but by God -- is it really worth it if those diapers in the landfill are still around when your grandkids' grandkids are long gone?!? The only small negative I could determine was that they are a little too big for a newborn, and we ended up using Pampers for the first 3 weeks or so. :( In retrospect, we probably should have used cloth diapers for the first few weeks.

WORST DIAPERS EVER!!!
These diapers are huge!!! The newborn size doesn't even fit my 12lb baby. They absorb nothing and every BM has blown out the sides and top every time. If you want to change your baby's clothes everytime you change her/his diaper then by all means use these diapers, because you can rely on the consistancy that they are awful, but if you want quality and absorbancy I highly highly recommend the seventh generation diapers.

Nice diapers but no exceptional fit....
I ordered these diapers to try them out and see if they would be bigger for my son who has been battling us with potty training and his current brand of diapers were starting to leak through the night. These diapers are alright but not really worth 17.99 per package. They do not have exceptional fit as the tabs are not even stretchy. Glad I only have to get through 24 of them. We will have to stick with his original diaper. These are supposed to be able to fit a child up to 55 lbs and my son is no where near that size and they are snug on him as were his other brand that I was hoping they would be a bit bigger. They are the same size diaper as the earth's best size 6. Very disappointed at the price and fit.

AWESOME Diapers!
I have been using primarily cloth diapers for our newborn, but have been using these for outings, and have been pleasantly surprised at the quality and leak prevention, considering they are so good for the environment. The do run very large- so even when our son was 6 1/2 pounds, the diapers looked ridiculously huge on him, so I would fold over about 1 1/2 inches in the front, to make them look more reasonable. Now that he weighs 9 1/2 pounds, I would say they finally fit perfectly. I do wish they were more reasonably priced, but as with most things you get what you pay for. We are also going to try the Nature Baby-Care brand, so we have something to compare them to- and that are much less expensive- $.18 vs $.50 per diaper. I am assuming they won't be as good. but after reading many of the reviews, I am willing to try them. I will update my review once I have a better understanding of the differences.

"green" doesn't always mean "good"
We gave these diapers a fair shot. Being eco-practical (not eco-maniacal!), we like to do things that are better for the environment, but without sacrificing good functionality. Broody Chicks are not where it's at. I recommend the Bambo Nature diapers Bambo Nature® Eco-Friendly Baby Diapers - Size 3 - Midi - Fits 11 to 22 lbs - 56/Bg over the other eco-disposables because their fit, feel, and performance are right up there with the premium regular brands. So back to Broody Chick. Broody Chick diapers are fairly soft, yes, I'll give them that. The fit is decent, but here's the rub: they don't stretch at all, so there's no give. Also making adjustment tough is the fact that the tabs lose their grip if you re-fasten them more than once to get the diaper squarely on a squirmy baby. So if your kid doesn't ever wiggle on the changing table, then this will be fine for you. And you've got a weird kid. Anyway. As far as absorbency, I hope your kid doesn't pee overnight, because these diapers won't go 5 hours without urine soaking through. And forget about poo. Unless it is a perfectly formed little puck, your average baby poo is going to breach containment. Another drawback we found is the entire diaper being white, with no picture or marking to discern front from back, which makes it easy to get it backwards--especially when changing diapers at 3am feedings while we were total sleep-deprived zombies. Not a huge issue, but aggravating when you're exhausted. So in short, these diapers are great if you're just super crunchy and all you care about is the fact that they'll break down in your compost heap (why are you composting human waste at home, you freak? #1 or #2, doesn't matter-- it's not okay) then these are great. If you're tossing them in the garbage, btw, you'll need to get biodegradable trash bags or else your purchase of these overpriced and underperforming biodegradable diapers will be for naught. These are not worth it. Get the Bambos and thank me later. Bambo Nature® Eco-Friendly Baby Diapers - Size 3 - Midi - Fits 11 to 22 lbs - 56/Bg
