Package instructions: Add water to desired consistency. Heat and serve over rice. Best when served with your favorite sausage or other meat. Can also be used to make soup, chili or other bean dishes.

Helps bring me back home!!
I moved away from the New Orleans area several states away a decade ago (post Katrina a couple of years). This is as close as I can get to the red beans and rice we used to cook down the bayou. You can throw in more sausage if you want, or anything else you think you'd like, but for a heat and eat, you can't beat this!!

Pro and con
The beans are creamy as usual, but without the salt, they are bland. For sodium watchers like me, this is fine, as I add my own salt-free seasonings and hot sauce. Guilt-free!
