How do you change the feather or switch to the other refills when your feather wears out?

Hi. The new toy accessory has a clip on its end. You remove the old and replace it with the new by depressing the release and slipping it onto the clip. Hope this helps.

Are there two feather attachments total, or three?

I received 3 total feather attachments. One that was attached to the pole and two replacements.

My cats LOVE this thing but the string keeps winding up on itself and we have to stop so I can straighten it out again. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem, I just keep running my thumb nail down the cord anf that seems to keep it from twisting excesslively and the minute I get a knot around the stick, I stop and fix it. It is the basic principle of physics...you keep turning and twisting it to play with your cat and the cord is going to keep twisting and winding up... no real solution...just keep on doing what you are doing.
