I bought and saved this item for the night I thought I might need it, and while unfortunately that night did come, the portable door lock came through and kept me safe, and I couldn’t be more grateful.My only issue with it is durability— the chain has snapped after just a few uses while trying to put it in place again. I think I can still use it with the chain broken, but haven’t had to test that out yet.

You get exactly what you pay for

This is my first time using a portable door lock, and it was a bit confusing at first. However, once I figured it out, it works great and does the job. I feel much more secure with it, and I’m happy with the purchase overall!

This would be very dangerous to have in place in an emergency when you’d need to get out quickly. It does not come off/out quickly enough and could delay your ability to evacuate in a fire or other emergency.

So... Yeah. It's definitely not as simple as it looks online. The split ring that keeps the pieces together interferes with closing the door. The flat piece is not quite right. The large opening is too big to fit the strike plate. The small opening is a tad too loose. I have to wiggle the lock to make sure the door latch is closed. Now the plastic planchette works great. BTW, the large flat end of the planchette - opposite of the pointed end - goes against the door. It doesn't inspire safety or protection. If I buy another one, I'll look for an updated model.Ok. We've had it for a little while and it doesn't work anymore. The plate that you place in the door is flimsy and has bent out of shape and doesn't allow the door to close any longer.

I am grateful for this little device. It is easy to use great value for the money. The quality is good if you’re homeless and you live in hotels and you’re a female this lock is perfect. I’ve never felt more safe with this lock than I have with other devices Staying in hotels can be dangerous lot of watchers nosy and just downright horrible people who’s trying to harm you be safe out there.
