Very thin and wimpy.

I own silicone hot pads and cloth hot pads, but I've never used, much less owned, hot pads made out of bamboo. I have mixed feelings about these little guys.The Good: As another reviewer has pointed out, there's no need to put these in the wash if they get dirty; a swipe or two with a wet cloth will do (as to whether they stain, I have yet to find out). I'm comfortable putting steaming dishes and pots on them, and so far they've given me no reason to doubt the heat protection.The Bad: I bought these (at least partially) as pot holders, and these items are definitely not normal pot holders. Basically, they are fancy trivets. Of course, they are decently effective trivets, but you can't use them to pull a pan out of the oven or carry a hot casserole dish. Bamboo is not that bendy, apparently.The Ugly: Not too much ugly here. Something that does bother me is the edging. I've had a couple loose threads and uneven seams. I don't think the trivets will fall apart, but I still don't like it.Buy or don't buy? If you are style conscious about your trivets or want to try something different for the dinner table, buy. If you're looking for hot pads to pull things out of the oven or carry things, look elsewhere.I received a discount for this product in return for my candid opinion.

These are a great set of hot pads. I love the facts that if they get dirty, I can wipe them off instead of having to wash them like cloth hot pads. I have a glass hot pad and I'm always worried about it breaking in the drawer or cabinet. These are perfect and don't take up any space. I put a boiling pot of water on top of a pad on my wood kitchen table, and there wasn't even any moisture on the table when I lifted up the pad. They do their job and take in all the heat so your counter top doesn't get ruined. I recommend this product. I received this product for free or at a discounted rate in exchange for my review.
