I got gypped on cables, too!
I read where a lot of folks were shored cable sets when ordering these IOGEAR KVMs. I thought these orders might have been a result of some mfg shortages, and surely those have been fixed. Well, my 4 USB and 4 PS/2 cable sets were shorted one type each. I got 3 x 3 rather than 4 x 4.Pretty amazing consistency here.

Very Nice
I have used various brands on KVMs over the past 20 years. This unit is very nice. Very clean and less then 5 minutes of setup - less time for running cables to systems.Would highly recommend this unit to others.

Works as advertized
I have been using quite a lot of different brand of KVM switches with various ports from 2 to 24 Ports. I like to use ATEN product, but it is quite expensive to use, so I had to look for different manufacture such as Belkin or IOGEAR. Since no problem to use both of them, so I gave a shot to use IOGEAR which seemed a pretty good deal. It works great without any issue. Being able to use either PS2 cable or USB cable on the same KVM switch is another reason why I chose.

Bad video ghosting, mouse dropped randomly
This is the fifth or sixth IOGEAR KVM I have owned and I have always been very happy with them in the past. As it has become more and more difficult to find PS/2 keyboards, I decided that it was time to replace my IOGEAR GCS138KIT (an 8 port PS/2 KVM) with this one. The first problem was that the mouse wasn't working. I fixed this by unplugging and replugging the mouse into the KVM and figured it wasn't anything to worry about. Then came the video quality. At first glance, it looked fine. Then, I opened a terminal window and noticed that the ghosting was very bad whenever the background was dark or black. I experimented with some of the cables, even changed the cable to my monitor, but it didn't make any difference. During my testing, the mouse would randomly stop working and I would again have to unplug and replug it from the KVM. I replaced my Logitech MX310 wired USB mouse with a generic optical USB mouse, reset the KVM a couple times and pulled the power on the KVM and reconnected but the problem continued. Between the video quality and the disappearing mouse problem, I decided to return the KVM and go back to my PS/2 KVM until another alternative could be found. There is always some ghosting when you're using a KVM - especially at higher resolutions. It's the price you pay for the convenience of a KVM. But this was totally unacceptable in my opinion, especially since much of my work is done with white on black terminals and the ghosting was so much more pronounced with light on dark images.Again, I have had many IOGEAR products and have always been happy with them up until now. This one experience won't sour me on IOGEAR, but I was less than pleased with this one item.

Great concept. Merry new and old computers/servers on single rack
Great idea! Connect both PS/2 servers and USB-ONLY Pcs on a single rack; just use different cable. My kit came with 4 PS/2 and 4 USB cables,4 x 6ft of each and 4 x 10ft of each. Great KVM with programmable on screen display of port selection and ability to setup user name and password right at the KVM console. Local users have to get past this security before they can even touch the servers. Highly recommended. Solid construction, easy setup.

Missing Cables
First, the product itself is exactly what I needed and functions well. My reasoning for giving it three stars is that it did not include six of the USB KVM cables. I would have returned it but shipping from Amazon on this product is now 1 to 2 months out which just doesn't fit with the needed timeline. I could purchase it from another vender but the additional cost of the product and shipping would be more than if I just buy six more KVM cables. I'm an avid Amazon customer and am disappointed in the quality control on this product being that I've had such excellent results in the past. I hope this is an anomoly and not a new trend.

Wow! This is a great switch
Wow! This is a great switch. The switch - side connection is a single connector. The computer side can either be USB or PS-2. So you can mix and match with new and old equipment.
