Buy this, not traditional sippy cups
I love that I can turn almost any cup into a spill proof straw cup. You can also use different straws. These fit over small mason jars, too. So easy to clean, much better than traditional sippy cups. Besides liquid coming out of the tip of the straw, these are completely spill proof. The only down side I've found, other reviews had mentioned as well, is that if you push on the top of the cup cover, the liquid will come out of the straw. This actually helped my daughter (7 months) learn to drink from straws because she could force the liquid up before she got the hang of sucking on the straws.

I really like these, for the most part
I really like these, for the most part, but water will shoot out the top of the straw if pressed.

Great for everyday use
We had the same lids but the sippy version and really liked them. My kids are 4 and 6 now and way past sippy cups, but still have a tendency to make huge messes. These are great, especially for things like hanging out on the couch watching a movie, having water on the night stand or long car rides. They offer protection, but are more “grown up” than the sippy cups.

Fun as a toy, not good as a cover.
I'm giving these cup covers 3 stars not for their ease of use (they were not useful at all). My kids like to play with the covers in the bath and to make fart noises with. It's their favorite toy of the moment. They're happy, I'm happy.

Great for toddlers!
We bought these for our daughter when she was little and now again for our son. The kids are great because they fit over almost any reasonable sized cup.

Neat idea but makes a horrible mess.
I liked that it had a hard straw. My baby chews silicone but it leaks everywhere. I tried placing the straw in both holes. Neither worked. The hole in the middle worked the best for not spilling but it eventually builds pressure and starts flowing out of the straw. When the straw is placed in the hole on the edge of the cup it didn't build as much pressure but as soon as the cup was dropped it leaked everywhere. The silicone lids are neat but they built so much pressure I couldn't even let my baby hold the cup. As soon as she touched the lid it started pouring out of the straw.

Lets you use disposable straws. Wonderful!
Simply wonderful if you can practice following two things:1. Always put the silicon lid first before inserting the straw. When you take the lid off to refill the content, remove the straw before you put the lid back on.2. Use a longer (disposable) straw instead of the ones provided in this package. I prefer those that can bend. The longer the straw, less likely the back flow of the liquid thru the straw. This transforms any choice of cup into toddler-friendly cup. Best part is how easy to clean them!

Problematic Lids - Squirts, Leaks, Absorbs Odors, Rips
I have the Boon spouted sippy lids and thought I would love this. WRONG!1. Squirts or Leaks - There are two holes on the lid. The larger is for the straw. The smaller is for venting. Put the straw in the larger hole...whenever you put any pressure at all on the silicone lid (and trust me kids LOVE to feel and squish the soft silicone lid) liquid contents come shooting out of the straw in a jet stream. Some reviewers say put the straw in the smaller vent hole and use the larger straw hole to vent to eliminate the squirting problem. Sure, that may help but then when the cup tips over, or is left upside down on on it's side, water leaks out of the large hole. Either way, you're going to have some unwanted leakage.2. Absorbs Odors - Soft pliable silicone has matte finish which is nice. It doesn't pick up lint like glossy silicone does. Also the opaque colors prevent most mild staining from showing. However, because the lids are silicone, you must wash the lids right away if you use with anything but water. Let anything sit too long, or go bad in the cup, and the silicone will absorbs the smell and it will always taste like that smell. Also, do not wash in dishwasher. The heat will cause the silicone to absorb the smell of the detergents you use. Sounds fresh and pleasant? Not when you can taste the smell of soap with every sip... I try to hand wash immediately after use with just water or as little soap as possible. Then air dry in rack.3. Durability Issues - The silicone rips easily. Be gentle...you can put a finger through it. Or cut it open if you bump into a sharp object. Or the kids can chew or tear it up. Or if you have it stretched over a cup and your child rubs the cup along the floor or wall, the edge of the cup will literally cut through the silicone. If you have young children that doesn't respect or take care of things, your lids will not last.I thought these would be great and really tried to love them but they just have way too many issues to be worth my while. Even with durability issues regarding the silicone, I still happily buy and use the Boon Snug spouted sippy lids. But these, don't bother. I cannot recommend.
