Breathing in nasty exhaust fumes while riding is bad for your lungs and just plain unpleasant, so that is why we developed the BioLogic Pollution Mask -– heavy-duty pollution protection for the serious urban commuter. Two replaceable activated carbon filters scrub out noxious exhaust fumes while dual inhale ports ensure adequate airflow even when going out on a full sprint. The Pollution Mask is made from tough, industrial rubber and plastic for long-term durability and is easy to clean and maintain. Two activated carbon filters included.

Works as advertised but the straps could use some work
My daily commute follows bike paths along major thoroughfares in a city jammed with vehicle traffic and pollution. I immediately grew tired of my mouth perpetually tasting like engine exhaust and sought out a pollution mask. Since I see cyclists wearing Respros everyday, I first looked at Respro. However, after reading the reviews, I was concerned about the air flow / breathability of the Respro because I try to get a workout out of my commute and thus ride fairly aggressively. Upon reading the design and reviews for the Biologic mask, I was immediately sold and ordered one. I've been using it for several weeks and have been mostly happy with it. It filters as advertised---I don't have the residual exhaust taste in my mouth anymore and I rarely even smell exhaust through the mask. When I do smell exhaust, it's probably just because I didn't get a good seal with the mask, especially when I haven't shaved my face (bearded hipsters take note). Additionally, it barely affects my breathing. Just make sure the mask doesn't slide down your face and pinch your nose (see comments below about straps). Make sure you don't pull hard on the canisters: on the first day I used the mask, I accidentally pulled on one of the canisters when I was putting the mask on and the whole canister, including the threaded base that the canister screws onto, pulled out of the mask and I had to spend a few minuets popping it back in.My main complaint is with the strap system. While it works, it could use some improvement. The mask has two straps, one for the top of your head and one for the bottom. It is important to wear the top strap fairly high on your head so that the mask does not slide down your face and pinch your nose (which obviously degrades your breathing). However, it is a bare strap with nothing to help it stay planted on your head so it seems to be a bit of an art to find the right spot on your head where the strap won't slide out of place. The company should mimic the strap design on military gas masks. These masks have a pad in the strap system that keeps the top strap(s) firmly planted on your head in about the two o'clock position (if you were looking at your head from the left side).Lastly, while yes, the mask looks a bit ridiculous, nobody seems to give it a second glance in the foreign city where I ride. When people do ask about it, it's usually because they want one for themselves.

This mask would be great if it didn’t put so much pressure on the nose bridge and around the nose! I still wear this mask when I go sprinting and the gym! People have called the cops on me because I wear this mask! People are dumb! The mask isn’t perfect! I’ve worn this for 2 years on sprinting days or sometimes when I get groceries. People stare! I feel famous wearing it. But I don’t mind stares if it worked. It does, but only when it seals! The only way to get a seal it tie it tight and that puts PRESSURE on the face. I get bruises and Marks wearing this mask! Again, the only way to get a good seal is to wear it tight. If anybody else has other ideas of wearing padding under the mask, TELL ME! Comment on this review because I like the potential of the mask, just not the bruises it leaves on my face. It doesn’t filter fumes but good at filtering dust and other allergens like that. I wear it when I sprint outside, so it blocks grass, nature allergens and gnats in my mouth. That’s good. But I still can’t remedy the Scarring and bruising from wearing it.

dorky & functional
it does off-gas a bit when it's new but it really helps my breathing in traffic. Sadly it looks more dorky than industrial, but it does work well and makes a nice seal. Whenever I wear it I feel extra lame and put on a reflective vest, but it really does help with pollen and exhaust so I have continued using it for 7 months this summer

but so far I feel I'm avoiding breathing in bad stuff. The weirdness factor isn't bad
This mask is legit, you feel the difference after commuting through smog and exhaust or high ozone days. Could be placebo, but so far I feel I'm avoiding breathing in bad stuff. The weirdness factor isn't bad, people immediately understand why you're wearing it, they actually wish they were wearing one too!

A big difference for my rides
Great fit but you'll need some work with the straps. I feel the difference even on heavily polluted days in Mexico City.

Peace of mind
There are just not a lot of these out there and this works well. Nice that this is for bicycle riders and not just a home depot mask. Filters are replaceable and mask adjusts well.

No Pollution expected
I received this product that was very well packed and very well explained when in use. I gave this item 4 stars because I have not worn it yet.....But it is very durable and appears to be the best...Blessings in your riding with this on....
