Looking for a Good Grow Light? Buy This One !!!
I've done your homework for you...If you need a cost effective, state-of-the-art, high quality grow light (for a ~ 2' x 4' area), stop soul searching and purchase the Maxsisun MF2000. In my opinion, it's pretty much the best combination of price, performance, and quality available anywhere.I have numerous HID, flourescent, and LED grow lights. The MF2000 will effectively replace a 400 watt HID, and will optimally cover a ~2' x 4' footprint. At 230 watts, it will consume about half the electricity (and, produce roughly half the heat) while doing so. As a moderately driven LED array, it should do this full time for about five years (which is a long time, measured in replacement HID HPS and MH bulbs)So, forget the cheap purple LED's, T5 fluorescents, COB's, etc. If you're interested in professional results, either use old school HID lighting (slightly cheaper, upfront), or go straight to one of the very latest LED quantum board lamps (such as the MF2000). Trust me.UPDATE: I've now put the MF2000 into service. Here are a few tips:- About the Remote Controller:Reassuringly, the MF2000 will work just fine with a conventional (24hr on/off) timer. And, the light intensity (eg, 50%) initially selected via remote will continue under subsequent on/off timer control (eg, 18hr/6hr). So, set intensity once and forget it- About Initiating the MF2000:Simply press and hold the remote control "ID" button while you click the red lamp switch to "On"; lamp will blink for 2 seconds; now release the "ID" button and you're done - all the remote functions will now work(the MF2000 instructions are a bit fuzzy here, but its actually dead simple)- About Hanging the Lamp:The MF2000 comes with a (four wire) hanging harness and a couple of rope ratchets. All good, except this combination uses up a lot (~20") of vertical space (which is at a premium in a 5' high tent). Solution: Use just two of the hanging wires (one per side), forming a loop between hanger points. Clip the included rope ratchet carabiner around the loop and hang as usual. (Maxsisun also makes an excellent 2'x4'x60" grow tent - ideal for the MF2000; see my review)- About Different Light for Vegging vs Flowering:Short answer - the MF2000 will work just fine for both. And - importantly - your ability to smoothly vary intensity from 10% - 100% means you can use the MF2000 right from seedling to final bud finishing. Combined with varying height above canopy via rope ratchets, adjustable intensity makes the MF2000 a simple and sophisticated grow lighting solution.(Technically, the MF2000 produces an extended light spectrum which pretty much encompasses all stages of plant life cycle needs, just like normal sunlight. So, no need for "red/blue" switches or MH/HPS HID bulb changes).(Thanks for reading. Hope all of this info helps you. Buying grow lights can be confusing.BTW, I purchased the MF2000 in normal fashion; this is an unsolicited review)

Better than I thought
Have to admit, I really like this light so far. It's bright and feels solidly constructed. My medicinal plants are growing like mad under it. It's lighting a 3 X 3 area at about 24" height above plant canopy and the growth since I've started using it has been impressive. There is no noise because no fans. The heat sink is uncomfortably hot to the touch but not dangerously so, but I suppose that is how it is supposed to work because the heat is not reaching down to the plants, just going up into the aluminum back plate. The light color is "bright sunshine". Not purple like some other lights. I like that, too. Now I can open some shades without suspicious purple light shining in my windows. Just looks like a very bright normal lamp. If it continues to work and does not break down in the near future I will be very happy. I bought four of these lights and plan to start replacing all of my other purple plant lights. That's how much I like this light. I really cannot get over how fast my plants are growing now!EDIT: I've deducted two stars because they have raised their price $30 in the past week. At it's original price, it was a great deal. Now that they're seeing these good review they think they can gauge people. No way! Now it's just another overprice LED light. Nothing remarkable about that. There are hundreds on the market just like it.EDIT #2: I've returned the 2 stars after seeing just how awesome these lights are. I've included 2 photos that show the amount of growth I have seen in just 9 days. First photo was taken Oct 24, the second was taken Nov 02. Also, I have tried a few more quantum board lights from other manufacturers and they in no way come close to matching the great product this company has come out with. I would love to try the Maxsisun 4000 but it is just a little to expensive for me, but I have bought the 1000, 1500 and 2000 and they all have exceeded my expectations. This is a true 5 star product!

Excellent value and love the remote control
This light doesn't use the very latest and greatest LEDs, but it's less than half the price of lights that do. I originally purchased a PB2000 Pro and liked it so much I bought another and did the same thing with the MF2000s. I now have 4 Maxsisun lights as well as some other much more expensive LED grow lights. IMO the MF2000 currently is the better product over the PB2000 Pro simply because it is 10% more watts, is priced cheaper than the PB2000 Pro (at this time), and has thermal dissipation fins as well as a reflector. The dimmer control is better than anything that I've seen on other lights, because it's a remote and has 10% incremental set points that works perfectly. If you tend to loose things easily the remote might be a problem, but now I have 4 remotes so not a problem. At 230 watts and great build quality, I can't think of a grow light that is better than this one. Need more wattage, buy more lights, because it gives you great flexibility in arranging and growing your grow space.
