Q: Is the view area 11x14 or less?

It comes with matting, if you use the matting as it is, which worked perfectly for me the size is 8x10 if you use no matting at all it's 13 1/2 by 10 1/2. You can cut the mat or buy mat to the size you need. I'm very happy with my Frame but it's not an expensive piece of artwork in it either but work by my 8 year old grand daughter. Hope this helps.

Very simple. Buy a toothed hanger and nail to top frame. ;)

outside: 13 2/8" X 10 2/8", inside: 11 3/8" X 8 4/8" , frame width 7/8"

The frame is made of MDF, composite wood
