Q: every so often my door won't stay down when closing. Could it be the the opener itself? Or the remote control.

When this happens to me it's because there's somthing obstructing the sensors on the doors (one on each side, near the ground). It's cobwebs or dust or something. I give them a little clean and try them again with the remote. It's for this reason that I never just drive away and press the button and assume the garage door is going to close. I make sure it closes before I drive away.

I ordered 2 remotes #950CD and was sent 2 #371LM remotes and they do not work. They work with the opener that has the "smart learn" button which mine does not have. The model of my opener is #248730. How do I make the exchange?

No, that unit will not work This are the correct unit but some are no longer available --- 83LM (Three-Button Remote) - 82LM (Two-Button Remote) - 81LM (One-Button Remote) ------- This are the newer replacement but programming is not as easy but instruction are in the box 895MAX (Three-Button Remote) - 890MAX (Mini-Key ring Remote ) - 893MAX (Three-Button Remote ) -- Hope that helps
