Flies better than it drives.
I don't know why the drone/car combo isn't more popular, but I do know that this particular model does one mode better than the other. My daughter has a flying car quadcopter by Protocol that works really well, but they don't make those anymore. As a substitute, I settled for the Brabrit X9. It's practically the exact same style, but Brabit just seems more cheaply made. In flying mode, it works just as well as the Protocol version, but it is noticeably louder. The increased volume does not affect the flying ability, but does speak to the lesser quality. It's great that it has 3 speed levels for flying, allowing for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of flying. And boy can you go far (away) with this thing if you know what you are doing. So for the flying mode, I give this a B+.When it comes to driving though, this thing leaves much to be desired. It has a tough time moving on carpet, compared to the Protocol brand, so it's not very powerful on it's wheels. In addition, it turns one direction (right) far better than the other direction. In fact, it veers to the right all on its own and goes more straight when attempting to turn left. Sound weird? It is! I actually returned the first Brabrit I got because of this issue. The replacement didn't really fare any better, so it's inherent in the product apparently. And there is no way to adjust the steering. So for the driving mode, I give this a C- Oh well. Less driving, more flying is the way to go.As for battery life, I get a good 8 to 12 minutes with this thing before it needs a recharge. Driving uses less energy, so more driving and less flying extends the battery life. But although you'll get more time driving, you have more fun flying, sooooooo..... yeah.If you prefer flying over driving, I would say that this is a pretty good buy. Nowhere near stellar, but also not a steaming piece of crap. Just a middle of the road product. Perhaps you'll want to compare against the "Taotuo Flying Quadcopter Car Remote Control Car and Quadcopter Drone" that is also available on Amazon. It has better reviews and doesn't cost all that much more. But it also doesn't look all that different.

hard to operate
Super confusing to operate. The instructions are hard to understand, and not much help. When I actually do manage to get it up in the air I am afraid to take it up very high for fear that it will break upon landing

Took it out to a field and did some test flights for like 5 minutes
This is perhaps my most regretful purchase at Amazon, and I have bought countless items here, and written a few positive reviews. First, the item arrived well packaged and I unwrapped it. Took it out to a field and did some test flights for like 5 minutes. It was pretty good, until it got stuck in a tree branch. I pulled it down, and that is when everything went downhill. One of the propellers stopped working as it was having lots of friction to spin. Later on, one of the propellers started spinning uncontrollably while the others were not. The day after, my 3 yr old kid stepped on it, and one of the wheels flew off, but we could not put it back. I wrote to the seller and they replied that they needed proof of purchase. I sent in my invoice information, but never heard again from them. Being generous with 2 stars because it started working quite well. A very flimsy product, prone to fail quickly.

DO NOT BUY - DRONE NOT AS PICTURED.
The product sent was not as displayed in the website. The remote did not have an LCD screen as shown in the picture and did not have extra propellers as shown in the video. The box sent does not match the picture listed. We also could not remove the battery plug for charging. My son is very upset at the false advertising of this product and is in tears.

I give this one star because it was good at first but it broke right away. (Per my 10 year old son who purchased with his own money.)
