Remote sensor is the key
I purchased this after a recommendation from a family member. Our bedroom always ended up to hot to sleep because the thermostat in the hallway did not turn the AC on. After installing this thermostat and programming it to use the sensor in the bedroom at night, our problem was solved. It comes with app support, though I do not use that much. Once programmed, It just works! Great concept and product!

Definitely avoid this
I understand that this company has been around for a long time, and from the reviews I have read I expected a great experience, however it has been anything but that. Besides the fact that it inexplicably has two home screens (!) where you can do some things on one but not the other, possibly the most glaring defect is that you are supposed to be able to use a combination of sensors. So you can setup these things called "comfort settings" where you can specify which sensors to use as the target. eg. To cool/heat according to the temp upstairs/downstairs/wherever. The major defect is that the system completely ignores all of this and just uses the average temp of both sensors. So for example, when I try to set the system to cool the lower floor only, it just keeps the cooling running because it insists on trying to cool both floors, so the lower floor becomes freezing, way below the desired temp, because it's trying to cool the top floor also. Even worse, I have zones, so the air isn't even reaching the top floor. For a supposedly mature system, this is a complete joke. I think the software/firmware is still in beta. Unless the helpdesk can sort this out, I'll be sending this back and installing a Nest instead, and I would recommend you do the same. There are a number of other little defects, but this is the biggest one by far.

Saves Money!
I installed this thermostat and sensors in a rental property, my electric bills have dropped by 30%. I expect larger savings over the hot AL summers.Note: Do not pull the battery tabs or mount the sensors BEFORE you pair them to the thermostat.Install the thermostat and get it powered up and working. THEN pair the sensors one at a time to the thermostat. The sensor and the magnet must set together by the thermostat when pairing. Then install the sensor and magnet at the door or window.

Simple to use App
My house had 2 wire, so I had to pull new wire (3-wire) to power the thermostat from the controller. I don't like the idea of running a separate power supply to an outlet. Besides that, the rest of the install is very easy and straightforward with a little bit of handy work. It connected to the App very easily and I like the 3 simple Comfort Settings, it makes scheduling very quick and easy.

Very happy with ecobee
Internet connection setup easily. Added second room sensor easily. Nice design, nice menus. If your cable does not have a 'C' wire, good luck. Mine didn't, but then I found the 'C' terminal in the furnace end was not connected so I just moved a redundant 'R' wire to the 'C' and it worked fine after.
