AcuRite Digital Rotary Timer

This is a very good digital rotary timer. I bought this and another timer for my kids to use to time homework activities. This timer is much easier to use and they've had no frustrations with it. There are two reset buttons on the side and it is easy to grip the timer to set the time. Sometimes they accidentally change seconds instead of minutes but that is just a matter of getting use to the dial.

For a lightly used timer that's less than 1.5 years old, super disappointing to have it fail - it's not cheap either! The rotary dial mechanism started to fail about a year after use - the numbers jump several minutes per click, e.g. 1 to 13, instead of one minute per click. Really disappointing, especially as I like the rotary dial vs. a number pad.

This timer works accurately. The dial makes it easy to adjust the time.however, the reset buttons on the side have a _major_ functionality problem. They reset the timer _even when_ the timer is currently counting down. Pick up the timer to look at it, or move it out of the way without keeping your fingers off the buttons, which are on the sides, and bam, your countdown goes away. If you remember what the time is, you can go ahead and set up the countdown again easily, but man what a pain.If they made it so the reset buttons ONLY worked when the countdown was not running, this would be 5 out of 5. It's solid, the rubber grip circle on the bottom keeps in it place for one-handed operation, and the unit has a nice sturdy feel to it.the 10-hour time limit is also VERY cool, because it lets people set timers for things that go a long time, like marinading, crockpots, smoking meats, etc. (I have another great timer, but it only goes to 100 minutes, which is why i decided to give this timer a shot)

My step dad had a timer of this same brand, that had the same feature. The ring around the outside that you turn to adjust the time. When that one broke, he was insistent on getting one just like it. Turns out the style is unique to this brand, good thing for him they still made one, and a newer version too. Works great. Not sure why one would absolutely need to have the wheel, but it is convenient.

It works well enough but it dings with every added minute when you are setting it. A bit annoying when you are trying to be quiet when you set it. (I am using it to help a few students time their developing of photographs in a photography class)

Works fine--a little harder to set than I anticipated

I purchased this from Amazon s I had bought one at Walmart and it was broken and they didn't have any others.. But I had one already and needed another one. They are terrific and accurate.

Completely useless. In order to set the timer you must turn the dial, and it simply does not work. It is impossible. When I turn the dial the numbers jump all over the place - there is no way to set it. Just worthless.

This timer has nearly perfect design, but very poor execution. The numbers often jump large amounts and mine suddenly died after just 4 months.

I bought one and liked it so I bought another. I like the dial interface and between the unit's weight and its rubber feet it's very stable. Unfortunately, the second one I bought does not adjust time accurately, and sometimes jumps by several minutes at once with one click of the wheel. The clicking of the dial is also very loud and cheep feeling on both units.

it does not work properly, in and out. very disappointing. It was a gift so i was unable to return for a new one as i ordered for christmas back in september.
