Brother White

I have watched many faith based movies and this one was very inspiring. David A.R. White does an amazing job as a preacher and the challenges that even preachers face and how to overcome them. I have enjoyed his acting in the God is not Dead movies and he inspires, on how to face and embrace every day challenges that we may experience and use our faith to see us through.

A good "what if" movie with a lot of situation comedy.

Overall, this was an enjoyable and entertaining film, clean and feel-good. The acting was good (yay), and it's always nice to watch Reginald V. Johnson and Jackee. I'm not as familiar with David White, but he did a good job, too. The movie's a bit light on the faith part, despite the content of the film. And that has pros and cons. On one hand, it's definitely not preachy, so it may appeal to a wider audience; on the other hand, the characters don't turn to Jesus much for help or reflect much about their spiritual walk. A miracle does occur, but it's more due to hope that a long-shot attempt will work.I was a bit concerned about theology when the pastor's wife gave his secretary a talk about loving herself, but that was redeemed when the secretary responded, "I just wish others could see me as Jesus sees me." I just thought it was strange that the pastor's wife didn't even mention God or Jesus - that should have been her line. Meanwhile, the ending is a bit abrupt and not believable, even for a movie. The villains just disappear and the daughter's conflict with her father dissipates after just one evening. I would have also liked to see some more character development of Pastor White and his sermons become more down to earth (not that they would need to show entire sermons).I'd rate this film slightly above Hallmark movies. I'd still recommend this film, but it would have benefited from 10-20 more minutes to resolve the story lines.

This is another good one, lol. David A.R. White makes way better movies than Kevin Sorbo, lmaoThis is one of his better ones. Add this one to your collection pronto!

This is a great and uplifting spiritual movie......it shows us that the love we show for others will always return many fold.

We have enjoyed Brother White. The humor begins when Brother White's wife is named Lily. So LilyWhite accompanied her husband to pastor an all-black church. Lots of humor, but ending with Brother White showing what a true pastor is by his kindness and attention to the people in need, even those not within his church group. We have watched it several times for a relaxing, entertaining and challenging evening.

Came on time. It was a gift for my sister who absolves this uplifting movie.

This was a GOOD movie. I like the Plot And the Way it turned out ! I have watch several of A.R.White Movies, and He Seems to get better and better.I have purchased several Christians Movie. Usually the Plots are Good but The Actors are not believable.When I See A.R.White Name I Know I am Buying a DVD I will Enjoy !

The quality of the film was poor, the acting was wooden and the scenes disjointed. A very poor movie. The blurp on the back says "If you liked Sister Act, you'll just love Brother White!" But this film was no where near as funny as Sister Act, I did not laugh once during the entire film.However what Christian films generally lack in quality they usually make up for in their portrayal of faith, yet even here the film was disappointing. During the entire film 'Brother White' did not pray once or seek guidance from God (which most Christians do, especially Pastors!). When confronting the evil banker Brother White did not refer to God or Jesus, or quote Scripture at all (something he does not do at all during the entire film). Watching this film you get the impression that Pastoring is more like a career driven CEO of a company than a leader of a Christian community.Hugely disappointing with this movie. Anyone looking for an excellent Christian film, Gracecard is highly recommend.

Not as funny as I had hoped. It poses some good moral discussion topics which we will use at homegroup.

We enjoyed the "Brother White" Dvd. After Brother White took the job as pastor at the church in Atlanta, he showed kindness in giving up his comfortable chair (recliner) to a less fortunate person who saw them carrying it from the moving truck, and, said "he liked it'. There was a lot of responsibilty to deal with at the church and with his family, his daughter was not happy with the move. They finally found a way to save the church from the determined banker. They set up a concert with wonderful singers and then bad relationships were made right after ....
