Downton Abbey: The Official Film Companion

Lovely book but let down by being damaged prior to being badly packed for dispatch. Dust cover was creased and back spine broken. In a jiffy bag that was open. Luckily this was only for me and not a gift, otherwise would have had to exchange. I will make do.

A beautiful companion book to a beautiful film.I loved the interviews, the detailed sketches of the custome designers that were included and the pictures and behind the scenes photos.This book has obviously been put together with great care and it does feel like a labour of love.Every character gets their own double page (or more) and you get to know stuff you probably haven't known before.A great read and would always buy again/ give as a gift.

For whatever reason the movie release on blue ray / DVD was due after Christmas, despite what a hugely popular gift I imagine it would have been. I needed something to bridge the gap between Christmas and finally receiving the Blue ray once released at the end of January. This book was a perfect preamble to being able to gift the film to my mum who is a big Downton Abbey fan. She liked the book a lot, the photographs and narrative throughout well read and viewed. Big hefty thing too, not a light weight cheaply produced accompaniment.
